what phone are you using? i was trying to connect my ps5 controller to my samsung tab and no matter what button it wouldn't work. also tried my switch joycons but it would only allow one joycon to function would an 8bitdo ultimate 2c work?

My Phone: Redmagic 8 pro 8bitdo ultimate 2c does work (only confirming the wireless model. not sure about wired.) I haven't tried the joycon on android. i know they do work on iphone. *testing* for the samsung tab and the ps5 controller. First, try connecting the ps5 controller before you launch the game. once you get for the open world mash any button for the system to recognize the controller.
