I left after 37 years, 3 grown kids, and a husband whose nest was the sofa. We became stagnated so I left. I bought a 1920s bungalow in the hills of Missouri! Absolutely found my nirvana. The mortgage though increased due to an accountant's mistake when I'd originally bought it......I had to foreclose on it. I totally enjoyed myself there. I'm enjoying watching you do all the hard work this place is for you.

I have been married 39 years as of December 31, 2023 and my husband is in a nursing home. He is 70 and I am 66 years, one month and 24 days as of my comments. Our marriage was in and out like stormy weather. I even wrote and recorded copyrighted songs in my recording studio because of him. I am still by his side handling his medical needs and finances. While our marriage was not always peaches and cream, it taught me valuable lessons of various sorts. Unless a person has been in an unhealthy marriage and endured negatives, one can not give advice that can be beneficial to others. My husband had childhood issues and so did I. Having God in the mix along the marriage journey gave me strength, patience, guidance, children and grandchildren. My husband did not put me on a pedestal. We worked together in two businesses in spite of the turmoil. I am physically and mentally to carry on in my senior years. I stepped my life skills up being in a rough marriage. My husband may have been evil, but God gave me senses to overcome evil with God’s goodness. I could be bitter, but I am much better, smarter, wiser and loving. Choosing to stay in my marriage due to lack of confidence in myself, along with fear staring me in the face regularly, made it not so easy to just get up and leave. When I did separate, I was able to stand and face the world by myself and not depend on any other man to think or physically and financially support me. Life had ways for me to grow up and be more mature and tough and also be strong emotionally. Thanks for reading my comments. Smiles
