As long as the elevator thread is not glued to the stick, you should be able to hold the stick in desired position and gently move the elevator into position by hand. There should be enough friction from the tread looping around the stick for things to work ok. Also a bit of a safety in case the elevator gets moved too far, the tread slips and nothing breaks😊

Yeah, but my elevator is fabricated and is not strong. I'd rather move the thread on the stick as i did in the video.
