I think we all find this soothing because it feels like the worlds in chaos, but we (the listener) are tucked away somewhere safe far from the stress and trauma. As violent as these sounds are, it sounds like we’re actually pretty safe. I could imagine myself bunkered down in a cellar wrapped in blankets, reading an old book by a lantern. It’s not THAT weird to find this calming if you think about it.

I swear these are the sounds from the og ghost recon, if anyone ever used Igor to create custom maps and modes you'll know you can also add sounds into the map. Damn near close to the same sounds.

For those who say we shouldn't find this relaxing... It isn't wrong, we don't crave the sound of war or combat. What we crave is the sensation of safety, or being just out of reach from danger. Hearing it in the distance means it's not here. It's cozy, the same feeling you get when you are in your house by a crackling fire while a storm rages outside.

@@zawadx4501 Not gonna lie friend, some days are harder than others. Just take it one day at a time and find people who you can relate to, who understand. That will help you get out of your own head and recognize that you're not alone.

My dad was with a Canadian armour regiment in WW2. He often could only sleep when inside his Sherman tank. Their biggest fear at night was being hit by our own artillery. They would sometimes park the tanks over foxholes and trenches to give added protection to other personnel. However, he said the sound he’ll never forget was the screeching of machines when their battalion moved in absolute darkness at night. The noise for the Germans must have seemed like Hell was approaching .

I listen to this because it visualizes what goes on inside my head… the constant battle in my own head… hearing it out loud brings me a strange sense of comfort…
