Amazing WW2 battlefield metal detecting discoveries from the swamps and woods of Finland. In 1944 during the second world war the Finnish and German troops were fighting eachother in a war known as the Lapland war. Today the True Vikings are out with their metal detectors treasure hunting for weapons, guns and other relics left by the rfighting forces. Will the boys be able to discover some wehrmacht artifacts in the battlefield foxholes and trenches of Lapland, Finland. i had the privalage to go on holiday to finland in june and i took my metal detector lots of items but best of all 5 German bullet casings all on the same trench firing step. (same rifle)

Detecting is always the best. You get used to the light, but in the winter it will be dark 24h too. That is a bit worse. Thanks for watching Kevin :)

Well done. Good finds did you look at the bottoms of those cartridges to see where they were made the year and the calibre? Goodness me. Nice countryside not sure if I would like to fight there though.

Thanks yakka. Most of the casings were made in 1940-43. Some had the finnish ammo factory VPT stamped on them ( Valtion PatruunaTehdas, State ammo Factory). Some had random letters and numbers to our untrained eyes. Probably german ammo?

I think that the 9mm cartidges you found was from a suomi kp31, considering every other rifle cartidge in the area was finnish

It really is that light in the summer months. The sun does not set. But in the winter it's other way around and the sun does not rise in a month. 😅
