Not a bad set even though it has few firing poses.

Lee-Enfield rifles captured in Singapore ... amazing that they got the way that the IJA wrapped their puttees correct though. Nice set and upload,thanks.

Got these guys in 1/72 will be fun to paint - the ties are a problem- was trying to work out wether to make them marines and paint on a navy collar or just paint them up as is. Have already painted up Atlantic Russians and teamed them up with Fujimi tanks - look cool and won a Wargame against a German force - so Atlantic troops do work👍🙂 All the best from down under Lewis Sydney 🇦🇺

Awesome review! They are all carrying Lee-Enfield rifles instead of the Arisaka. But when you are a kid back in the 70s and 80s you seldom notice these details.👍🙂

Thanks man. I agree. Cool fighting poses was way more important than 100% accuracy back when I was a kid.

Although I had some 1/32 soldiers I played with outside, my thing as a kid was always the 1/72 troops and they only got played with inside. Consequently, I still have my collection of over 20,000 men. As far as accuracy goes, the Atlantic Japanese set was terrible but that never bothered me as I always understood that, first and foremost, they were toys. I have a TON of fun memories with my Atlantic Japanese and they always fought in combat just as well as my more accurately dressed and equipped Airfix and Matchbox troops. Also, they looked extra snazzy in the jungle with their ties and neat dress! Thank you for doing these reviews, they alway brighten my day and give me that smile I had as a kid fighting imaginary wars no end!

I got 20.000 Soldiers as well. Been collecting for over 40 years. Got sets from: Airfix, Esci, Revell, HäT, Revell, Atlantic, Roco, made in Hong Kong, and some other companies. Just need one of the kids to move out and maybe fight my wife over who gets the room for me to play in. :)

Atlantic was always hilarious. One wonders how that worked for them. I mean some guy had to sculpt the figures at some point. Why go through the trouble of inventing ties on Japanese soldiers? Was that Italian sense of humour? Like the tree guy with whole branches with very few leaves? Rayguns and so on. I’m thinking you either do it right, or cut cost by skipping details altogether. But Atlantic kind of always did that - and with their target customer they of course got away with it.

I always wonder what the thought process were. Like you say nothing realy makes sence. But I guess that´s why they are so much fun to collect. It´s kinda like the X-files.....the truth is out there lol

Thank you for another cracking review. Deep Joy. Such a pleasure to see Atlantic figures collected and appreciated. We spurned these solders and dismissed them as naff, when we were children. Maybe we were spoilt? We had Airfix after all. For those who have fond memories of Atlantic, I salute you. Nostalgia can be a wonderful thing, it can help one find one's centre and put a smile on one's face. Thank you again my friend for all the smiles you give me.

As always, nice review, I love Atlantic like all Italian children of the 70s, the poses were not as beautiful as the Airfix, but my heart beats for Atlantic❤

I feel the same. Not being perfect is the charm of Atlantic. Also making sets that one else made at the time is very cool.

If anybody is interested, Gulliver Toys of Brazil makes decent knock offs of most of these Atlantic Japanese poses and a few Airfix poses, in tan and butternut, for about half of what these usually go for on ebay. Just got a set of those, will be comparing them to my own Atlantic set in a review video soon

Oh i had this set but could not remember who made them. The Machine gun is probably supposed to be a Type 92 Heavy MG
@toysoldiernostalgia11 ай бұрын
You`re probably right. I guess the Type 92 was an upscaled version in a larger caliber of the Type 3. Still the wrong type of magazine though. But it`s a toy not a model so I guess it works 😁

I never had Atlantic figures, but compared to some of the other Atlantic sets so far on this amazing channel, this Japanese Infantry seems to be a nice set. The soldier with the weird outgrowth, well that's camouflage of course. The other figures are okay I guess. Maybe they could have made the rifles look a bit more authentic. The only silly thing is the heavy machine gun. It is (sort of) recognizable as the Type 3 or maybe the later Type 92 but it is very crude... Atlantic could have done much better in 1/32 scale.

I’m thinking the guy (or woman) who sculpted this just had a sense of humor OR went off an outdated uniforms of ww2 book

I used to love the bamboo hut they made and setting it up in my grans garden with the Japanese soldiers in it. Then my U.S marines have a battle royale with them. You needed plenty imagination and sound effects. The Banzai and Aieewww cry I used to read in Warlord. Warlord would be banned now heh heh.
