WW2 RAF/COASTAL COMMAND FIXED FOCUS BINOCULARS

introduced in 1941 these fixed focus binoculars were used for sub hunting and night flying by the RAF & COASTAL command....2 pairs one excellent thd other pair a bit rough.

It sounds like a Burton !!. great impression !! 'Broadsword to Danny Boy' was another classic !! lol Sweet binos mate ! The Stancave is looking amazing !! That Monty Python line is from 'The Life of Brian' when the spaceship crashes to the ground and Brian walks out of the wreckage uninjured.. a very camp local says the line !! lol

Yeh cheers , yeh I've got quite a bit of stuff, this is just half of it.....yeh good old Australia I've got plenty of family south of Sydney...the last stint I did out there I finally became an Aussie citizen....but I ended back in the UK later that year...thats life m8🙂🙂

Thanks Chris, yeh I was looking at some of my books last night and most of the german 'army' binos have the shield and little leather straps to attach to the binos.....but one photo of a navy pair were just like this, 'military collectables ' suggested this line of thought. You do see these up quite a lot on ebay, usually without the rubber eye guard....look for the 'B' bloom Mark. I was watching some aircraft yesterday, they are pretty good 🙂🙃🙂

Yeh definitely, binoculars are something that it's not to obvious as to what they are....I'm no expert, but I'm a keen amateur 🤣🤣

Yep..editing..not my thing either....e bay is like going to the same car boot sale every week...mostly the same stuff but every so often a few little gems turn up ...just goes to show musnt ignore e bay when it comes to the odd bargains...leather rainshield could be off a pair of german navy binos given the size.

Yes I agree 100% , there's tons of cr#p but you've just got to keep sifting. Interesting that the shield could be german navy, its definitely got age to it....more research required but as it doesn't have any stamps or marks I might never find out, yeh I'm a point and go person, editing is beyond my tiny brain🤣, cheers CJ m8, all the best 👍👍

There were a lot of famous actors in that film and that was a great impression I knew who it was straight away, what’s with the French bayonet of Damocles hanging over your head 😂😂😂😂😂
