Not sure if any one has said this to you before, as I am a new to your channel. But, I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to bring histories evidence to the world again. These artifacts are priceless and all tell the story of soldiers on all sides life and struggles. I don't think very many people appreciate the artifacts for that aspect.

Hello my name is Chris...I'm German :) So 10:50 you have a little metal peace with the words: Echt Vulkanfibre in English Real Vulcanfibre Vulcanfibre is a kind of textile which was first invented at about 1860. It's a textile which was combined with chemical stuff like Cink. So it was really durable! This stuff was used for suitcases, belts and for other parts which had to be very strong. I hope it will help. With best regards Chris

I'm rather surprised he hasn't already, especially in his digs around Berlin. Between the Seelow Heights area, east of Berlin, to Berlin itself, was one huge fight in the closing days of the war. The dead on both sides, that they know about, were in the tens of thousands! The German govt has graves registration people whose jobs are to locate and recover remains, and they find them all the time.

Well figuring if the Germans did the same as the Americans and recovered their dead and gave a proper burial then it's not likely ( I'm not much is a history person btw)

Hey Dan as a rule beware any projectile wider than 1/2 inch. Projectiles wider than that likely will contain an explosive charge with or without a visible fuze, (some have the fuze inside and thus are not visible) Even some training munitions contain a explosive charge. Many people believe that training munitions are safe. The truth is some are not and so all must be treated with the same lack of handling as explosive ammunition. Great show,

During WW2 German soldiers were often shipped out at the drop of a hat, it was usually during the summer and soldiers tended to pack a light kit, This can become a problem if they are there for a long time and winter starts to set in, so the military would pack winter uniforms all together in parcels and ship them out later, those bits of plastic stuff with the trench coats were probably the remains of a cap peak, the boots and pants were either looted or rotted, you could get away with wearing the boots and pants but it wouldn't be healthy to run around wearing a Nazi cap and coat just after WW2. My grandad fought at Monte Cassino and got hold of one, unfortunately he was wounded and while in hospital it was stolen from his kit.

Great video, Dan! Seeing the cemetery reminded me that when I was little, I used to think that the people were buried in the rocks, so the little headstones were babies that passed away and the big ones were for fat blokes. Ah, the crazy explanations that kids come up with for stuff.

The little foxhole where you found the canteens and stuff is probably where some russians or germans stayed for some time because the small bullet looked like one similar to the PPSH-41(Russian) or STG-44 (German). Also the canteens look like german food bowls they ate out of.

8:15 Metal foots were actually used in some army boots at that time. So this boot was either blown off a foot or the boot was broken by wear and tear. Might be from a Soviet boot. 13:31 What did this person try to shoot? A elephant? That bullet is rather big. Rare find as well. Hope you decide to keep that for your personal collection. This one is easily end 1700s up to end 1800s. 13:53 rifle grenade, and so far I can see LIVE! 16:00 Looks to me more like a Soviet trenchcoat, they used a beltbuckle very similar to the one you found. Look at the picture and you should see what i mean. i4.photobucket.com/albums/y125/iannima/Soviet/Uniforms22.jpg
