Hey, Mick here. Just want to say thank you so much for my supporters gift from last month. I have hit some hard times and have been feeling rather down and out and that just made my day so special especially since I was not expecting it. I must apologize also as I had to cancel my support for the moment, but I will be back when life gets better. Thank you so much again for all you do

I saw some similar MIG bunkers in Bosnia years ago. The motors for the blast doors were gone, but someone had figured out how to open them manually. I didn't see how they did it, but it makes sense that there would be a manual backup. The doors look pretty much identical to those in the video, but the hangers (bunkers) seemed to sit lower to the ground. That could just be my memory though lol. Of COURSE the personnel bunkers had old tires in them. That seems to be a requirement of some kind lol. Cool explore HH and EE!

17:19 More blast walls , I would say this is a Dispersal . Basically a parking area out in the open where are craft are parked but ready to go . Normally if it is a engine run up pan ( parking ) they would have some metal fixing points in the concrete called tie down points , well when you are at full throttle testing an engine you don't want to rely on brakes that may fail and suddenly you are in the air . This has happened in the past with a Lightning in the RAF way back when , the Technician did manage to land the plane with minimal damage ....which proves a point .....an Aircraft tech is still a better pilot then some Harrier pilots lol .

we did see anchor points everywhere in the concrete actually. Thanks for being here :)

Good job my friend. Correct the bolt together revetments are near the end of the Cold War. Again, humans don't seem to care about other people's property. Pine trees once in an area will attempt to dominate it. My yard has that issue, and this year these trees have put on 24 inches. Stay safe and well both of you.

HH as you would say Holy Pancake what incredible Soviet aircraft bunker hangars.I think your right smaller one were probably for Mig 29 fighter jets a very potent weapon at the time. Great to see you and EE driving on the runways,i used to do the same thing at night; when i was security on a disused RAF base in Norfolk. There is definitely something about old air bases,like the past is calling out to you to remember the people who lived and worked there.👍

Thank you guys, for this fascinating look back into the more recent past. It's a shame that someone has decided to use those bunkers as garbage dumps, but very wise of you not to push through it. Who knows what was in those bags. It's hard to imagine, now, with nature creeping in everywhere, but that airfield would have been a hive of activity back in the day, with people, and vehicles, and aircraft, moving every which way. And yes, it is interesting to wonder, what it was like, to close those hangar doors for the last time, and just walk away. Having been in similar situations, it is a very strange, eerie, feeling, knowing you're the last man out. Thanks again for all you work, and effort, to bring us such interesting locations, and History. Cheers to you both! Stay Safe!
@zeberdee19727 ай бұрын
6:26 where there are the two hardened aircraft shelters , if you look left that looks like a blast wall for jet exhaust . This was done so aircraft taxiing out and some times in a hurry wouldn't blast people or equipment over with their exhaust blast . Trust me after having being sent flying by a Harrier when I was in the RAF , the pilot did it on purpose as he thought it would be funny . Thank you Harrier pilot !!! , he turned on the taxiway to point the rear of his Harrier then throttled up . Also once blasted from a standing position on the Monitor ( Foam Cannon ) into the crew seat down to my right by a Harrier that decided to fly over us in a slow hover whilst we were dealing with a Harrier on the Runway . All I remember was being stood up to being seated , my ears were ringing and every body else outside hit the deck . They kicked the crew door open and I was sat there dazed and they was shouting was I okay .....I couldn't hear them . Mad really as I would have thought it was worse for them being outside , what I didn't know was how close that Harrier was as it came from behind ....again thank you very much Harrier pilot .

Interesting Cold War Russian airstrip on the Easten Front. It must have been something to land on an airsrtip like that. The Russian structures don't look like they are built nearly as well as the German structures, in my opinion. It does look like they were put up in a hurry. Most likely suited the purpose, at the time. Enjoyed that. Thank you EE and HH. 💞

These Russian bunkers appear to be primitive compared to the German bunkers. If I had a choice, I would seek cover in a German bunker for protection. Even as the war raged on in WW2, the advancing Allie’s would seek shelter in these bunkers even if they had been destroyed. It’s surprising as to how bunkers have developed since WW2. Many missile silos are many feet underground with only a concrete hut on top allowing entry. Simular to the missile silos you showed in an earlier video. We’ve seen WW2 locations and Cold War locations plus WW1 locations used by the Germans. We get to tour pretty much many of the fortresses and bases of the 20th century of Europe. Never know what we may see next. Keep surprising us.
