I remember setting this up when it first came out and it was a nightmare. So many things would go wrong even when it was supposed to work because I followed all the steps! Is it easy to set up now ?

It's actually missing a ton of guys, they got Honky Tonk Man but no Greg the Hammer Valentine, they got Davey Boy Smith but no Dynamite Kid, they got Earthquake no Typhoon. No Bird Man, no Owen Hart, no Steiner Bros, no Brainbusters, no Killer Bees, no Bushwackers, no Legion of Doom... but they remembered Outlaw Ron Bass!?!?

For all of you that are having issues to make it work follow this steps: - Go to options>settings>directories and be sure that all those 5 directories/ folders are looking to the right path on your PC. -Again go to Options > Configure Graphics Plugin On that first screen that will pop-up, on the bottom, under Enhanced Control there are 4 boxes, put a check mark on the one that says Load Hi-Res Textures if Available. If this isnt check you will see the No Mercy Game instead of WWF Legends, this step is very important. -All Mp3 music that you downloaded needs to go to the Music Tool folder on the Project 64 folder which should be like this Music Tool>Music, just move your Music folder to the Music Tool. -For last, I found two ways to run it, one via de emulator Project64 and by going to the Music Tool folder and double clicking Start-with-music-tool batch file. The shortcut on the root folder isnt working for me. Once all this is done, you will see the emulator loading all the textures and right after that the game splash screen with the Ultimate Warrior. Hope this help someone.

My first introduction to Emulation, Mods, Etc was WWF No Mercy in 2007 and i STILL Play them to this day. I really wish we could install these mods on to Everdrives or even Flash Carts

I could definitely go for that new Ultra Pro Wrestling game being textured like this game is. HD textures like those on rounder models that had limbs actually connected to the body (and hair) would look really nice. Like, those textures on Def Jam Fight for NY and Urban Reign level models would look pretty great.

Looks amazing. The mod scene of No Mercy is probably my favourite ever, there's a LOT of great stuff out there. Showdown and Feel the Bang are two that come to mind.

It is pretty cool. I would like them to expand the roster even further. I know Ric Flair is a bit controversial in a WWF Game from the era, but he was there in the tail end of the golden era, so I think he would qualify. Legion of Doom would also be appreciated and many more. But the selection is really great.

He debuted for WWE just a year after the Undertaker did, and both of them were previously in WCW. Flair definitely deserves to be there, as he accomplished a lot in just 2 years (won the Royal Rumble, and the WWF belt twice).

It says it’s supposed to launch project 64 and do something with textures upon clicking that .exe but mine brought up a command prompt for like a split second and then boom nothing. Checked all the paths inside of the project 64 apps and everything seems correct according to the guide pictures equipped with it.

@@grak1396 I don't think the N64 could handle this game natively. N64 had such limited texture memory. The N64 wouldn't even be able to handle the theme songs. I remember No Mercy really down sampled the theme songs and just looped a few seconds of it over and over to get it to work on the N64.

I am an older man and remember when Nintendo had the wrestling thatt the wrestlers were small in size and you could barely tell who they were but I liked the game. I had a Sega system at the time but enjoyed playing that game.

N64 was peak Era for Nintendo cartridges. I don't know why nes and Snes titles wereN'T rereleased onto the n64 ?? 😔 Some of my top rerelease titles woulda been 1) Mk1, Mk2, Mk3, and Umk3. 2) The TMNT beat em ups. 3) Simpsons Beat Em Ups 4) Mmpr Games 5) Batman Games

Tried it out as soon as I could and I'm genuinely amazed by the amount of effort put into this mod. To give an idea, Bret Hart has 21 different outfits, Kurt Hennig has 30+. It's crazy the labour of love the mod team put into this and I'm loving it. Can't wait to see what the championship single player mod is going to be like. First time I've been excited for a wrestling game since No Mercy launched.

The only thing left in the No Mercy scene is for the game to be reverse engineered to run natively on whatever hardware. That's when the whole thing can really be cracked open, starting with 60fps. This already happened in recent years with Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time.

My own little nitpicks: They could have used actual jobbers from the day. There are plenty of well known guys from the time. It would have been kind of a fun little thing for hardcore fans. Also, the lack of red, white, and blue ropes throw me out of it a bit. Commentary on your clips was super hard to understand too. This era was slightly before my time since I really got into WWE during the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras but I was so into wrestling I ate up everything I could find, new or old back then. I loved WCW, TNA, AAA, CMLL, whatever I could watch. I got super excited when WWE/F 24/7 was a thing waaaay before the WWE Network so I could actually watch older stuff easier. I rented a ton of classic era VHS tapes and had a few in the collection at a time. No Mercy is such a fun pick up and play game to this day. The community around the game is so cool. I am happy stuff like this exists. I would have killed to play things like this when I was a kid.

Question, did you have to setup all the folders on the emulator? I read the help file and only says to click on the wwf challenge icon/shortcut but nothing happens. i have made a very brief and incomplete mod for no mercy that allows for a "five moves of doom" signature sequence. performing certain moves in the correct order will result in things like giving a player special, ultimate specials that do insane damage, final submissions that end the match 100% of the time, etc. a complete mod like this could really benefit from it, and the codes should still work.

@sonian6642 So far, I played it on an emulator, I haven't attempted a flash cart (not sure it will run on one, but maybe? Not sure how it would handle the higher res textures.) It does crash, occasionally but man. It's a good time. Great era too, right before the New Gen. I use the Project64 emulator. Any emulator that can handle N64 games with hi res graphics should work, I think. I think.
