the problem is that people talk so much but do so little. watching videos and feeling sorry for the world will do nothing. here are a few things we could change, in our personal lives, which make a massive impact: 1. switch to renewable energy 2. stop buying and using plastic bottles. take a reusable cup to coffee shops. 3. same goes for plastic bags 4. go vegan. (if that's too hard, go vegan for a few days each week. sounds dumb but makes a massive difference.) 5. save electricity. (turn lights off when you leave the room. don't leave your phone on charge overnight. turn plugs off at the switches AND take the plugs out.) 6. save water. take shorter showers. wash dishes manually instead of using a dishwasher. (unless of course, your dishwasher is new and more efficient than washing hands manually) 7. take public transport / walk more / bike / do car shares 8. don't waste food. start a compost bin if you can - it reduces waste at landfills and gives you good soil :D 9. maybe try growing your own fruit/vegetables. or - get your produce from a farmer's market. 10. boycott unethical companies. (edited now that it's become known to me that boycotting palm oil isn't the best thing) 11. plant a tree :) 12. switch to ecosia. 13. maybe the most important: USE YOUR VOICE!!! try and influence the people you know, sign petitions, write to your local mp, whatever you can do to make a difference. people really underestimate what their voice can do. even if you manage to persuade your friend to stop buying plastic water bottles or stop driving their car to a shop 5 minutes away, it makes a MASSIVE difference. i edit this as more people give advice! thank youu

@@yuzdude5220 im not sure wether you're being sarcastic or not, but if you aren't let me educate you- in approximately 12 to 11 years all the damage we have been causing for thousand of years will be basically irreversible and the sea level will rise that will cause masses of floods, tornados, storm etc. This will then force people to move to rural areas where the sea is far. That will cause overpopulation and that will cause many and many people becoming unemployed etc. And at the end of this all the food supplies will drop because the animals are dying because the main sources of the food chain (plants, trees, grass) will be gone because of global warming. Then if we don't have clean water or food we are going to die of starvation. We will have to wear gas mask because they say that breathing that air is just like smoking, imagine little kids trying to breath but instead having to smell the fumes of gas released by their ancestors. Your families will have to suffer because of this. So even if this is a joke 'Yuz Dude' think about the future and the death of millions of future generations is no joke. Have a good night.

This plastic is recycled further. The money I get from selling is used for buying new plants. 4) In the hottest months of the year (May and June) I fill water in clay pots for birds and animals. 5)I avoid using plastic bags while buying groceries instead I used my cloth bag. 6) I try to reuse my items and clothes and don't purchased the newer ones very often. 7) I collect AC and RO waste water to water my plants. 8) I plant trees every week ..Like in this hot month of May I have planted 5 mango trees.

The same way your knees regrow new Cartlidge if you don't completely wear them out first. We have the resources to clean up the pollution and recycle glass, paper and plastic. The forests are proven to have a 7 year cycle of regrowth. And people manufacture oxygen for space travel and medical use so we don't depend on trees for oxygen or cleaning the air. The fact does not account for the space area/square footage of domesticated land vs wild land. Rather it addresses the fact that that there are an excess of domesticated animals vs non-domesticated, causing an excess in waste production that this world is not meant to equalize naturally. If humans and their domesticated animals did not exsist, and the world was never touched by humans in the first place, there would be far less creatures on this planet. The fact that 96% of animals on this planet are domesticated does not necessarily hold any evidence to the amount of "wild areas" left, because theoratically all humans and domestic animals could be crammed together and that statistic could still be valid. By saying this i do not mean to say that the wild populations and areas are not greatly reduced by our living standards, because they are. Im just stating that the fact of 96% domestic animals does not correlate to there only being 4% of wild lands. Rather the subject is far more complex. We would have to account for what the natural amount of animals would be for those wild areas. Even if we had many wild lands, our domestic animals may still make up over 50% of the animals because we mass produce livestock to feed our unnatural population of humans. I appologize if this sounds confusing at all

@B dub which is better, not using social media to raise awareness and educating people, or using it to educate people and raising awareness about an important subject? Social media would still exist, so the amount of fossil fuel they r using is very, very small and this video's cost in "fossil fuel" is absolutely nothing compared to other causes of climate change etc, and its effect on people could be tremendous. Social media and the internet itself doesnt consume much fossil fuel or further climate change. The 1st guy just said that it is a good thing, that we're using the internet for a good purpose, there was no need to point out any "hypocrisy". Irrelevant and uncalled for.

@RymVri1085 жыл бұрын
Aim higher. This video is pretty pictures, a lot of feel-good words that people can nod along to, and barely hinting at a real solution that people can put into effect today but not really saying anything of any substance. It’s the same “We need to make a change!” and “Open your eyes!” that we’ve been hearing for decades. People will share this for the pretty pictures, and go right back to their lives. If you want to be a filmmaker and have an actual impact, then go plant-based and make films on how a plant-based diet can actually do all the things this video says we need- less impact on the environment, less need for animal agricultural space and more rewilding, less pollution and overfishing of the oceans, more healthy food for vulnerable , starving populations, etc. Go beyond the fluff that is the entirety of this disappointment of a video. And good luck to you. As a former marine biology student and filmmaker, it’s a tough world. But you can do so much better than this hollow box of a video.

Invest in personal renewable energy because electrical grids will implement that too slowly Eat less carbon intensive meats (poultry and fish) Don't manage the ocean because it manages itself Don't destroy all the trees Don't use things that need recycling ideally, but recycle if you absolutely have to Use hybrid or electric vehicles, as walking is unrealistic. Alternatively, express interest in electric public transport (think Japan) Start realistic, asking people to completely change their lives is foolish and you'll only scare them into doing nothing. Another video did better than this one and spent 50 minutes telling why one shouldn't use plastic.
@stephrh.003._.85 жыл бұрын
@@ALmaN11223344 so me saying my opinion and what I learnt from this video is foolish? You know what's foolish the fact that you think plastic consumption will stop any time soon. I know it's harmful and I wish we didn't use it but it's unlikely that we will stop for the mean while but yes we are seeing improvements like the new straws in Macdonalds. The ocean might not completely need our help if you say say but remember all those sea shell's that have died won't come back that's why we need people who work with managing the ocean to plant new shell's which are necessary for the sea life. If I scare people away by saying facts that need to change then we all are in serious trouble.

@@stephrh.003._.8 You scare people away by saying they need to completely change their lifestyle to come close to securing the future for generations to come when really half the things you advocate are unrealistic or near impossible. I never said stop consuming plastics, it's pretty telling that that's what you deduced from my reply. I said, don't use things that require recycling when you're able, and you're absolutely more likely to get someone to switch their grocery bags or to replace their straws than to stop eating meat cold turkey (pun intended). Furthermore, I live on an island with 160,000 people, the island is driven by diesel generators and the vast majority of the population is impoverished in just the right way that they can all afford cars to add pollution to the atmosphere. Asking them to walk in the tropical heat is hilarious as fuck, even asking me to do that is hilarious. What isn't hilarious is advocating the mass production and acceptance of hybrid vehicles as the next best lineup, because the double edged sword with that is massive fuel economy savings (money for the impoverished) on top of the environmental footprint reduction. There are more dynamics at play than your tiny idealistic mind can comprehend, don't @ me.

Start by realizing that earth is not a globe and that the elite are ruining our skies, water and food. They are going to depopulate the earth by 90%. That means both me and you are dead in good time. Pray to Jesus and beg for forgiveness for he is the only way into heaven. Do not be fooled by mainstream science. Most scientists are luciferian. The earth is flat and stationary. There is no outter space. There are no asteroids, there were no dinosaurs. The world is a stage and we are the game peices. If you do not beleive me then close your eyes and ask God for the answers. They will appear.

a few ideas: buy only the things you really need and preferably second-hand / refurbished, donate or sell what you don't use anymore ; use less energy (especially heating/cooling your house, hot water and tumble-dryer) ; avoid planes and cars ; reduce your waste buy using reusable products only and buying food without packaging ; replace meat and diaries with whole grains and legumes (lentils, beans, chickpeas, etc.). And more controversial: have fewer children, and if you want a pet, choose a herbivore (guinea pig, rabbit) or a rat ^^
@generationfallout51895 жыл бұрын
Good advice. People overlook how much meat pets consume world wide. Im 31 and will not be having kids. What a broken world to bring kids into anyway. Seems kind of selfish to me.
@mooninthemist38255 жыл бұрын
So we should abandon all the cats because they eat meat? Leave them in shelters and on the streets because less will adopt them to adopt ‘herbivores’ instead? I would only get rabbits to eat them.

MoonintheMist when your cat expires just don't get a new one. Sacrifices must be made for the greater good. Otherwise every last living thing will most likely die.
@mooninthemist38255 жыл бұрын
Generation Fallout that doesn’t solve any problems. Lol. a) There’s still going to be millions of cats out there ESPECIALLY if people don’t own them because then there’ll be more strays which are not neutered so they’ll breed more. To solve the ‘excess’ of cats problem neutering programmes need to be put in place and more people need to adopt and neuter their cats and give them good lives. Not just stop owning any. b) you vegans are so hypocritical. You go on and on about ‘speciesism’ and yet you’re doing exactly that here. Oh the cat is bad, it eats meat, therefore people should stop owning and looking after them and just leave them in shelters and on the street. I mean come on. Cats arose due to our breeding of wild cats into the domestic cats we have now, just the same as we bred pigs and cows. Except the cat was bred for a very different purpose; to aid us in catching mice and vermin, to protect crops, not to be food. This is simply attributing each animals intrinsic properties to how we use and value them, not discrimination based on nothing but how they look.

I think the most selfish choice a person can make is to have children. Sorry for my rant.
