I'm loving more of Baela the Brave. And when you see how small, fast, & agile Moondancer is, and how observant & skilled of a rider Baela is, you know Rhaenyra chose her for a lookout because of her skill.

i also watched and finished supacell over the weekend! enjoyed it too! "was it a bomb?!" your reactions be so humorous, which is great when watching a tragic story as house of the dragon is. rhaenyra asking rhaena to look after her kids is basically saying you're in charge of the legacy of house targaryen. rhaena may not be happy about it, but when it's a time of war, everyone has their role. that's the role rhaenyra is asking rhaena to take on and it's heavily important. everyone is making some form of a sacrifice, whether they want to or not. the dragons are particular in who they bond with. rhaena trying to bond w/other dragons likely happened already and didn't work. i'm sure we'll see more on "dragon seeds" later on this season/series. harrenhal is known to be haunted so, daemon seeing visions is expected. plus, the castle is rooted amongst the weirdwood tree, which we saw throughout game of thrones. tbh, even if alicent hadn't misinterpreted in what viserys said on his deathbed, this war would still be happening b/c rhaenyra was named heir. season 1 made it very clear that the realm would be divided on having a woman on the throne and they would've looked to overthrow her. houses across the realm either would've stuck w/their promise or broken them since many of those who swore allegiance to rhaenyra in season 1 episode 1 are no longer living. to those who inherited these positions, it's like, why should i keep that promise if i don't want to? it also calls back to game of thrones season 7 episode 3 when dany and jon met for the first time. dany expected jon/north to keep it's pledge to house targaryen (bend the knee) and jon was like no, i'm not bound by my ancestors' fealty (i'm paraphrasing since it's been a while since i watched that episode). bottom line, this wouldn't have been avoided either way b/c aegon was born. the moment viserys had a son (who lived), this war was already set in motion. they just thought that eventually, viserys would change his heir and he never did, especially as time went on. viserys was like, nope, my word is my word.

Alicent didn’t place Aegon on the throne cause she misunderstood the prophecy; the prophecy simply gave her an acceptable justification for doing what she had to do. It was a tool of self-deception. *Which was made clear when Alicent brilliantly used the "I swear on my mother" line which Rhaenyra had used while telling a lie in season 1.* Alicent’s wants were of no relevance during the Green Council; Aegon would've been placed on the throne with or without her support. Her placing him there just granted her a degree of influence over him, which should've been clear to anyone watching episode 9. Think of Alicent's arc as a man : "a boy who was raised to always do his duty no matter how high the price; has a moment where he mistakenly believes all his sacrifice might have been worth it for the realm, then slowly realizes there's too much blood on his hands to stop." You would be obsessed. But a complex female character with internal conflict only gets "she's so dumb" or "she's a b word". I think this show is doomed bc it's too intelligent for its own good.

she’s not intelligent though because as Rhaenys said, “you don’t wish to be free only to make a small window in your prison”. she couldve definitely put Rhaenyra on the throne because she was the one who got the news that Viserys died she could have easily sent a raven to Dragonstone and had Rhaenyra there. The green council would have not tried Rhaenyra AND Daemon. If Alicent wasn’t so envious of Rhaenyras privilege Rhaenyra would have been placed on the Iron throne as quickly as Aegon was.
