WWII Hawker Typhoon veteran flies the Spitfire, ITV news footage

What a fantastic story and more important remarkable man, whose qualities still burn bright.We owe his generation everything and I find it so remarkable that in an age of self, these true hero’s always remain so humble due to what they had to do and sacrificed.As soon as he got in the cockpit there was that instant reaction of scanning all around his aircraft as if he was back in his Typhoon.You sir are a true gent and let’s hope soon we see this aircraft once again flying as a mark of respect to you and your fellow aviators.

Lovely story ! I met a Typhoon pilot at Goodwood in the late 1980's . As always these brave men who faced death in every flight were very humble and never asked for any special treatment or recognition. A fitting tribute indeed .

Total respect to Bernard doesn't look his age and when Bernard flew Typhoons he would of been flying as low as 100 feet to do his low level ground attack on the enemy men like Bernard gave us freedom lovely Gentleman 👏 total respect to a Hero 🙏 looking at his Eyes light Up when getting in the Spit brilliant 😍🤩👏🙏
