There’s a very good memoir of a machine gunner in the 1st infantry division called A machine gunners war by Ernest Albert Andrews Jr. very interesting he talks about everything from Omaha beach to very close quarters combat. Great book to read to learn about machine gunners during ww2. Interestingly he used a 1917a1 browning instead of the more widely used one 1919.

The Ammo bearers were issued M1 Carbines This is a Gunner/Assistant Gunner impression (they were issued m1911s) ;)
