This is a question that perhaps someone with some solid DC-3/ C-47 understanding can explain. Of the PW1830-equipped planes (one of them clearly was a Wright), why do they sound slightly different from each other? In fact one of the civilian models taking off seemed to have a throatier note than the others. Perhaps they are tuned a bit differently? Prop gearing is different?
