WWII US m3 37mm anti tank gun detail walk around video

This gun was used in the defense of Moscow in 1941. I found a lot of shells from the m3 37 mm gun. on the positions of the Red Army near Mozhaisk in Russia.

37mm was fairly out of date by the time the US entered the war. Somewhat useful against Japanese tanks but only really effective against trucks and half-tracks in the European theater.

My father fired this gun for four days straight in the Kasserine Pass area. Destroyed several troop trucks, killed several dozen German and Italians, and was decorated for his actions with US II Corps. The completion of the north African campaign, these guns and the half tracks that pulled them were given to the French. These guns were quick, accurate, and dependable.

uh, didn't know that the US 37mm had "wheel brakes" like on the 75mm M1897, when the french converted their 75mm guns to pneumatic wheels in 1935, they removed them

John F. Kennedy's PT 109 crew perloined one of these from an Army unit and mounted it to the foredeck of their boat, thats why Kennedy had extra crewmen on board to man it. Too bad they never got the chance to use it.
