This has been wonderful ‼️ Being someone who knew very little about this I appreciate your conversations on this. Clearly I just LOVED Masters of the Air... the cast was absolutely amazing. I hope that when this Series ends that this conversation does not end ‼️

Another fan here. I truly enjoyed the series. Looking forward to rewatching. Can’t wait to start the book. I’m halfway through Crosby’s book and I also have on deck Jefferson’s book-Red Tail Captured. Love history, especially WWII yet this is my first in depth look into the 100th. So fascinating. Thank you!

I loved the scene in the last episode of Masters of the Air where there was a nod to the Toby Jug and the mantelpiece from the 12 O'clock High movie.

Wow I am really going to miss the weekly MOTA episodes and this fantastic accompanying podcast. Getting a deeper diver into the details of the men and missions through this podcast really added more colour to their stories and accomplishments. Excellent excellent work!

This was the best series I have seen in a long time. Thank you to everyone who made this happen. And a heartfelt thank you to the real men who gave their all for humanity. ❤❤❤

My wife is a teacher, we were just emotional to learn how many of them went on to teach. To imagine how most of those students had no idea just who was teaching them, certainly in no real detail. But also, you can almost imagine the motivations, and inclinations that might have fueled those individuals to become teachers.

MOTA completed a puzzle for me. Between MOTA, Band of Brothers, Pacific and Private Ryan, I finally understand where all the pieces fit for my family and what was happening around them and what it must have been like living in Germany at that time. My grandparents and family are from what was East Prussia, now Poland. My mother was born in 1943. My family were anti-Hitler and anti-Nazi. My grandfather was forced to serve in the German Army and was taken prisoner by Russia; my toddler mother, her young sisters, and my grandmother were refugees and had to escape, narrowly missing allied forces shooting at the lines of German Refugees. None of them ever spoke openly of what they had to do to survive and I only heard a few of the stories. Unfortunately, I only have 1 aunt still living - to whom I can turn to get answers. I want this series to be as important to my children's generation as it is to mine.The world learned important lessons from WWII. I'd hate to see the mistakes repeated.

There were some huge questions asked during this podcast. We cannot possibly truly understand the meaning of the decisions made by the men of The Bloody 100th before, during and after the war, but we can be guided by their example. One thing I learned from the series and the excellent documentary that followed was to never forget the human factor for all sides during any war. One day the human race will learn the lessons that these people have taught us. I lost my Maternal Grandfather in WW2 just 6 weeks before the end of the war in a senseless raid on the port of Granville, France over the commodity of coal. How that affected my Grandmother, my Mother, Aunt and Uncle was incalculable. I am still proud that my Grandfather cared to make a difference. Thanks for such great insights into the men that these fine actors portrayed.

Show was great, despite what all the whiners say. They complain about what they didn't get based on their preconceived wish list instead of enjoying what we did get, the first real look at what the members of what the 8th AF sacrificed to ensure our freedom.

Gale Winston "Buck" Cleven remarried a couple of years after his first wife had died. Yet for some reason this was not mentioned at the end of the Masters of Air episode. When in my opinion, it should have been. Especially when also his second wife out lived him, when Buck died in 2006. It did not mean he did not still love his first wife. Who he was unable to have near him in companionship anymore in following her death

I heard a lot of disappointment such as Crosby. But I actually felt for these personal failures as I realized these are twenty something guys, and believe me, I prefer them to be happy in a terrible war than to have PTSD

If Band of Brothers gets an A+ and the Pacific gets an A, Masters of the Air is a B- at best.

The show was ok, certainly worth watching but the 3rd best of the 3 series. They just tried to show too much going on with so many characters. It felt really disjointed and scattered. A little too rah rah murica of a finale too. Well made show but really couldve been better.
@fitycalibre75559 ай бұрын
Lmao can you be specific? Also I think that the pandemic clearly hurt the show. Not their fault
@vstar71967 ай бұрын
Agreed. This was the worst of the three. Me thinks Hanks is getting a little too big for his film making britches.

The series is a big disappointment. Will not rewatch or buy the DVD. Sorry, HBO was right pass on the series.
@davidgibson829 ай бұрын
Saying it’s a big disappointment is disingenuous. I’ve watched each episode at least 4 times except the finale which was fantastic! Perhaps it didn’t tick every box you had, but MotA was still an amazing production and series.
@swarlesbarkley41029 ай бұрын
@@davidgibson82 it’s not disingenuous. I’m not drinking the Kool Aid. The series was poorly executed when compared to the original Band of Brothers and The Pacific.

@@davidgibson82 I didn't care much for the going-beyond-history to tick one box off. Should have made all the girlfriends spies! How awesome would that have looked! Also, please fit more planes on one screen than existed in the entire theater, while yer at it.

Apple will not put in on DVD. (which is a pity). They are not like HBO.

Poorly done series. All of the events depicted didn’t actually occur to the crews of the 100th B.G. They are a collections of stories from every group in the 8th A.F. And the CGI was horrendous. This was the biggest disappointment.
@ChienaAvtzon7 ай бұрын
It depends on the character. Everything with Rosie and Crosby happened to them, apart from Operation Chowhound. It was only really Egan who became a composite character.
