WWTBAM HTML5: Project USA - First look of the 2008 Clocked Theme

Today, or tonight depending on where you live, is a special day where I reveal some progress on my 2008 Clocked theme for Project USA.
It's still early in development as it lacks some features and has bugs that I need to iron out.
Be sure to look forward to it as I plan on releasing it next year after it's completed as well as the 2010 Shuffle and 2015 Retro themes.
FUN FACT: This footage was recorded on my Android phone using the USB Camera app in 1080p 60fps with the RULLZ USB 3.0 HDMI Video Capture Card, the one with the MS2130 chip.

This is so impressive! I know that the clock format has been very difficult to make for the people that did attempt it in the past, so to see that you're making good progress on it is really nice. The shuffle format will also be exciting to see in the future. Great work.

After you release the clocked version of millionaire, can you try and make the super millionaire html5 controller. I tested out FlaminOne’s version, but it was a bit buggy.

Let me start by saying that it looks absolutely amazing... ❤ However (and I know this is pure pedantry but I love the graphics so much I just need to say this - take it as constructive criticism xd), the clock actually was half a second off-sync, meaning that the numbers on the countdown are actually correct AFTER the glint (mostly after the second one), not before it. If you watch a question from the show carefully, the first second on the countdown actually only lasts half a second and the zeroth second actually lasts second and a half. This seems like a nonsense to deal with, however (in my opinion) it would increase the desired tension as you have a heart beat at one moment and then a tick of the clock just half a second later... 😁

I think it was great, and as you replied 5 or 6 months ago, really worth the wait, and ready for another hype. I have some questions and thoughts: For the questions: Does Project USA have an option for 4:3 widescreen or just the 16:9 widescreen? Do you have plans for backgrounds/tree backgrounds that have movable effects for other Millionaire's Projects? (sorry because I don't know another way to call that) And do you have a plan to have a demo for the Shuffle format? For the thoughts: I think the question & answer lozenges and win lozenges may move down a bit (around 2-5px), the words in the question and answers might be a bit bigger, and for the win lozenges, the prize money may be a bit more white (this is the part that I think a lot because, in the demo, the value money in the win lozenges looks nice, and I don't know whether it should stay the same or have a bit more white) Overall, these are my questions and thoughts after watching the demo.

Thanks for your feedback. Here are my answers to your questions: 1. Every theme for Project USA will include an option to use a 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio. 2. Every theme does allow you to provide a video file to replace the static background with an animated video, with a little bit of coding involved. While I do love the idea firsthand, I don't really have any plans to replace the static backgrounds for Project Rave, Olga & USA. Although, I will come back to that idea when I feel like it. 3. Yes. I'll be releasing a demo video showcasing the theme itself, but after I make enough progress for the Shuffle theme. At the moment, the theme is still in its early works. As for your thoughts, the reason why I chose this size is to fit the question and answers text inside the lozenges. And you're right about the prize money text having less white. I'll take these thoughts into consideration.

This is really amazing so far. Though I do have 3 questions to ask. 1. Will this still work if I want to replace lifelines with different ones? Like let's say, replacing 50-50 with Double Dip or replacing Switch The Question with Ask The Expert lifelines? 2. Is there gonna be a time bank to use later for the million dollar question, or is it not possible? 3. Will there be a no clock version as well? Anyways, you've really done an outstanding job at this so far. Keep up the great work as always. 👍🏻

I appreciate your feedback. Here are my answers: 1. I plan on implementing an option in Variables.js to switch the 50:50 lifeline with Double Dip and the Switch the Question lifeline with Ask the Expert. 2. Yes. I've already implemented this gameplay mechanic into the controller. So it's possible. 3. Most likely. After I finish the 2008 Clocked theme, I'll work on an alternate version with the clock removed.

How can I disable the fourth lifeline (the Switch lifeline) in the Classic and Rave versions of HTML5? Because I would either replace it with a Double Dip lifeline or not have it at all, but I prefer the latter one where there are still three lifelines even when I reached the $32,000 second safe haven.

On Variables.js, you can change the "STQUnlockedLevel" to a number that's above the set amount of questions. For example, setting the number for "gameVariables.STQUnlockedLevel" to 16 when using the 15-question format disables the fourth lifeline.

well not bad but fun fact KBC 2010 Format it actually copied USA clock format (if you have watched KBC 2010 before you realized it)

Surprisingly, yes. There are some differences though. For instance, they used the 12-question format instead of the usual 15. The time limits are different too. Basically, instead of 15 seconds for the first two questions, they used 30. And instead of 30, 45 seconds for the next 5. After that, the last 5 questions were not timed. What's not been carried over from the US clock format are the categories for each question and banking unused time. Other countries did this too when they introduced the same clock format from KBC in their own versions of Millionaire.

@@kuby64 well yeah for blue rave format in 2011 it's surprisingly they changed back to original design for lifeline logo ata design etc but keep US clock format type for timer instead Dot's format and animations it's still same later it used that format in Venezuela 1 year later without clock format and original blue rave paf clock because the paf lifeline format is without face images like US clock
