En passent
@isavenewspapers8890 Жыл бұрын
This is known as an en passant (in passing) capture. Right after a pawn makes a two-square move and lands side-by-side with an enemy pawn, that enemy pawn can capture the first pawn as if it had moved only one square. (You can think of it this way: the capturing pawn is "catching" the pawn that is moving two squares.) This capture is available only if you do it right away; you can't wait and do it on a later move.

so, all the pawns can move 2 squares at their first move, and you can capture these "2 square jumpers" with the "en passant move", if he lands next to your pawn, just like he would've moved only 1 square, but only if you do it as you next move, you can't do it later, after you moved something else... Am I getting this right?

En passant is probably the 2nd most confusing rule in chess
@Judge_Jon4 жыл бұрын
It's not all that difficult. If an enemy pawn moves two spaces on their first move and lands beside your pawn you can capture them like they only moved one space.

What do you find to be the most confusing?
@BedrockBlocker3 жыл бұрын
@@MrDavecr7 I would say castleing is the most confusing. - It is the only move where you are allowed to move 2 of you pieces - You have to touch the King first - There are two ways to do it - There are constriants
