@@MyOneFiftiethOfADollar I am far from being an expert in this but I would say: - when H tries to trap with f4, instead of taking I would do, he advance the pawn on e4 and diminish the space of the king (this same pawn is going to be useful in the end and will be part of a mate net) - the rook attack the pawn on h4 and bang C both push f5 protecting e4 and cutting the rook from the attack on h5 - repulse the rook by attacking it with the king - the knight sacrifice to move the rook from one side of the board to the other and win back the pawn he lost and advance his....that's crazy to find this. - the activity of the black king is just crazy it threaten mate so that being a piece down is not even felt in the position. Now there are 2 weaknesses and C is going to pin the bishop (making H a piece down virtually so that the material is kinda equal) - now that the bishop + king cannot protect the pawn, C eat them back and a third thread (the first two are pawn promotion on the second file + back rank mate with the king) is born the 2 connected passed pawns. - C does not eat the f4 (do you recall this f4 pawn?) white pawn that is now a protection for the black king (this is just genius) - the bishop is tied until the end and even when H threaten it with the rook he cannot leave the first rank because C can promote with a discovered check I don't know about the other that are looking but I have the impression of a snake slowly choking its prey, that ability to play on 3 threat in parallel and make them progress in symbiotic fashion is just art.

Idk if Magnus is showing up late on purpose, but it’s brilliant to say the least. There is an old story about the legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi, about how he would often show up to his duels late and disheveled. This would anger his opponents and would gain him an instant advantage over his opponents. His oppenents would be completely flustered, and the duel hadnt even started yet. Typical psychological play. Last April an FM had a dirtier version: Calling the arbiter on me for coughing (I was polite , handkerchief , elbow the works..) Ended up getting in my head the fucker. Miyamoto Musashi showed up very late in a duel, then won the duel, later on another duel was scheduled and his opponent had prepared an ambush due to expecting a late arrival. This time however Musashi arrived very early, and ambushed them before they were ready and won yet again.

Interesting to you, but off topic. Player showing late to blitz game does so at their own peril. Very few chess players would be offended by such an action that would increase their chances of winning money.
@MyOneFiftiethOfADollar
@MyOneFiftiethOfADollar Жыл бұрын
@@ShadowK0ngif you were being considerate with your coughing, your opponent had no basis for calling the arbiter and should have been penalized. If somebody calls the police or emergency service for unnecessary or frivolous reasons, they can be legally prosecuted. Summoning the arbiter as your opponent did can be viewed similarly. I believe there have been instances of tournament players being warned for accusing opponent of cheating when they were not.

Daniels commentary is top tier. So much of the commentary out there where they are watching the eval bars is mind numbing and not very insightful. This commentary lends itself well to bad players like me on youtube as well, since we can pause and take time to understand. Thanks Danya

The way Magnus traps whites dark squares bishop was genius. He knew towards the middle game that there was a pathway to put the dark square bishop out of play, which would require him to put his knight at risk at the edge of the board

Carlsen is late on purpose because it allows his opponent to get into his own head. It should be an automatic forfeit if both players are not at the board for the start

there's often some tolerance margin, like 15 minutes in classical games. this being said, i agree it's disrespectful of Carlsen to come late so often. obviously it's a flex, and he's undeniably got the skills to back it up, but it's still not a classy type of flex. did Kasparov or Anand do this at their peak? no, it would be unthinkable, because it's simply rude, and it was beneath them: they were simply winning games. it feels to be in even poorer taste when Carlsen doesn't do it against world class opponents like Nakamura, but "mere" 2500s (in which case he really doesn't need to prove anything, it's more about rubbing it in their faces)

@@vibovitoldbro you're commenting under a video where where he's literally doing this with world class opponent. with 30 more seconds than hikaru. it's not rude when you're flexing in front of greatest chess players in the world

i am simply not understanding why wouldn't hikaru move king to E2 at 10:28 , that would be a winning position, if the pawn puts him into check simply take that pawn and you create an opening for your bishop to attack the b2 pawn.

Footage of them moving pieces you can't see. You know who they both are. And they put a board on the screen 1/10th the size of the entire screen so you can barely see it. Excellent 👌

how is rook A1 check unstoppable at the end? someone please explain? the next move is hikarus so he would take magnus pawn on F2, then Hikaru would surely move pawn to B1 to queen, hikaru then in check so moves king - magnus then takes hikarus rook then its a squabble to the end? surely its not OVER until its OVER?
