WXYZ Detroit TV anchor Bill Bonds passes away at age 81

Longtime former Channel 7 anchorman Bill Bonds has died at the age of 81.
Bill Bonds, a broadcasting legend who made his name at WXYZ-TV Channel 7, has died. The longtime anchorman passed away Saturday after suffering a heart attack. He was 82.

I never knew that he covered the tornado in Anchor Bay in 1964. I was six years old and we lost everything. What a good man.

In 1973, while setting up the center camera for the 5 pm newscast, Bill called me over to see his new toy...a Pulsar Digital Watch...shake your wrist and the time lit up in red digits on the solid black dial. $500 cost and he was like a little kid. It was a fun place to work.

They both were Legends in their own right . They both had very Strong Will . But they had a caring Heart ,for the People they Service . To Great Phenomenal And Professional Public Figures for Detroit, Michigan . 😊
