Really cool video. I'm waiting on my pair of side zip boots from BS and stumbled upon this. Watching it made me feel more confident about the quality of my purchase. As a side note... I've never personally worn a pair of shoes so much that it needed to be re-soled. I can understand it for work boots, but beyond that it just seems like the person needs a couple more shoes in their wardrobe!

That really is the one thing they are lacking. They don't have any danite or ridgeway. The only vibram soles belong to the golf sneakers. Ps how sweet is it that they make golf sneakers.

I have a really old pair of RM William. Still going strong. They don’t have a stitch anywhere in the sole. All held together very well with brass nails. Thick leather insole and outsole. Surprisingly comfortable and simple.

I've got 3 pair of BS shoes. I have the Hoyt monkstrap, Durant oxfords and the Lopez boots. All of them are fantastic and really comfortable and a great fit! Once you get that first pair, you get the 20% coupon and you get the same discount for every subsequent pair. I would honestly say, the only drawback is the wait time. Since they are made to order, you'll have to wait 3 or so months for the shoes to be delivered. This can be a huge bummer if you order a pair and they don't fit.

Boots are no different than a man's truck. Find one that meets your needs, and if there is something you don't like, take it to Tony. And let's be honest, not alot of people take good enough care of the UPPER to ever worry about how many times it can be resoled. We've all seen some hammered footwear. Amen

It can do both. The way I did these, it allows more resoles because new stitching isn’t required every time. That makes it easier for the repairman and less stress on the boots. After a couple resoles with stitching, other parts could need replacing. With stick em those things will be fine, so it makes it less expensive.

If you stitch the leather midsole to the welts, yes. Sometimes we do unit cushion soles on Goodyear welted shoes by stitching a midsole and then making the unit sole a stick em.

You mentioned squeaking a few times in your video. I have this pair of Beckett Simonon chukkas love the look and fit but they are horribly squeaky. I sent them video bellow and the recognized the defect, air in the midsole near the shank is causing the noise, and sent a replacement pair. Will resoling correct this issue? are there other options? I have a pair of the Nolan Brogue’s. While waiting I bought a pair of Reid sneakers. Thank God I did, there is no standardization in shoe sizing. I have a pair of oxfords, 20+ years old, 9.5. All my work boots and sneakers are 10.5. So I ordered dress boots at a 10. 9.5 bloody freaking uk size 🤬🤬 Switched the 10 for 10.5 like the sneakers. Perfect fit. A few months ago I received 2 pairs of Chukka boots. I have my eye on a pair of cap toe closed lacing oxford’s on their website. Not to sure, I’m kinda leaning towards the Allen Edmonds version. Great videos, thank you for doing them.

I'm starting to believe that Beckett Simonon sends CAREFULLY screened pairs to KZbinrs for review. I've ordered four pair and ALL of them have had significant cosmetic defects. Scratches, bubbles, sloppy stain work.....I wanted to love this brand. Planned to make them my exclusive buy....but I'm going to keep looking unless they do something to address the sloppy workmanship.

It was expected on a $200 boot. They did cover it with a nice leather sock liner. Most companies don’t do that. Paper footbeds are only a real problem for people that have heavy foot perspiration. I have seen paper footbeds in vintage shoes that lasted through multiple resoles.

Why oh why oh why did you go through all that trouble and didn't fix the one mistake of there being a fake welt? You could have just deleted the fake welt because it is fake and a waste of material. You could have turned it into a blake rapid stitch and those boots are some of the most expensive on the market so to make a pair of blake rapid stitch boots out of some low cost beckett simonon boots would have been so cool

Some people don’t want to spend more on new soles than they did purchasing the boots. They don’t realize that it makes the boots a higher end product once done. We showed them how to upgrade the sole quality without breaking their budget.

It was a fake welt. I didn’t remove the fake welt. It is still on the boot. This boot was a blake stitch construction and still is a Blake stitch construction. All structural integrity is still in tact.
