Love the input you had after the song. I totally agree. The less amount of time I spend in front of a screen, and the more time I spend out in the world creating new experiences and connecting with people, the better I feel. It's undeniable. COVID has made it so easy to justify sitting in front of a screen and not being around people, but now it's time to go out and do shit! Just went to an Underoath show with Spiritbox & Bad Omens the other night and I plan to go to many more in the future!

I really appreciate the deep dive into the lyrics and the mood of the track, thank you for being open and transparent. It’s been interesting to see how despite the current hot new thing, it’s the quality music that always lasts the rest of time. Linkin Park for instance, it was honest. NF and Hopsin in the rap and hip hop scene, it’s honest. These artists are allowing themselves to be vulnerable and true to themselves on the track. Good to see it happening in metal.

The lockdown times were weird to me. It didn't bother me as much in the beginning, being a nerd and mostly playing games with friends online anyway. But simply not having the option to go out for a drink or to do whatever opened my eyes in a way. Even though I was not going out that much, I always had the option. I could always turn the screens off and go outside. In a way, being forced through lockdowns was a good thing. I think it made a lot of people realize how cool the real world actually is, even if it sucks sometimes. So I can agree with Wyatt a lot here. Awesome reaction and very good commentary!!

So what you’re saying is.. MAINLY.. Your old self was a prisonment, being locked in playing video games with your online friends, living in the virtual world instead of the real world.. Looks like even prior to covid you were a prisoner of yourself and the virtual world
@Nerex72 жыл бұрын
@@xOriginalFlux I still am to a degree but covid has helped me realize it. I still enjoy games and play them with my friends from time to time, and I still need a computer to work on stuff for University, so that's just a part of my life. But it shifted the value these things had (and especially the value the real world had because all of a sudden, it was not accessible anymore)

I think love is the answer for sure, but I think loving and forgiving are two different things. If you have a fallout with a friend or family member, I don't think it's fair to say the answer is always to love them and allow them in your life. You should love yourself over all, and loving yourself enough to know when to remove a toxic person from your life can be the best decision you ever make. What I did love is your reaction to this song! Keep it up, always look forward to your videos!

Whatsup Wyatt and Lindsey! Been a good while since I've been here now, but I really like your reactions! God Bless from Sweden! Awesome track from MIW! To answer Lindseys point; I would say a big reason why this track sounds so huge vocally, is because it's featuring Lindsey Schoolcraft from Cradle of Filth, and her kinda gothic, operatic vocals, layered with Chris in the chorus!

I relate 100% with how Wyatt feels about metal and the negativity that it carries. Architects is my most favourite band (same as Wyatt) but I cannot seem to let myself absorb their idea about death and beliefs, it felt very destructive to move forward with it in life and it oppose to the direction I was going (healing myself). However, I still do love Architects very much. This upcoming Cyberhex era seems very uplifting. Thank you Wyatt and Lindsay, the discussion was very insightful, love the way both of you discuss metal contextually and lyrically.
