Save me Jesus! Oh lord! Sucks that the rally tower broke. Couldn't tell, was it bolts falling out or actually broken stuff?
@JohnTYoung2 жыл бұрын
Broken bracket lead to a stripped bolt. So both bolts that held it in place failed. YAY!

How’s the Nomad fuel tank holding up after the impact with mother earth? Also is the fuel range enough to cover each day/section? Keep up the positive attitude and brap on!

The tank is a tank! I have more than enough. I should stop filling it all the way up.

Well done, keep on keepin' on! So youve been refverring to the "fairing"....but is it just the fairing or is it the actual tower mounting bracket...that we drilled, helicoiled, and loctited.... that broke? Thanks as always.

I just answered my own question by watching yesterday's vid. Wow that just suck donkey balls...Wondering if our favorite engineer has a solution / redesign for that...

I was literally just driving back from a restaurant with my bride thinking about how a big ass hose clamp could be used to wrap around the head tube and the frame to reinforce those two bolts maybe even two big ass hose clamps

Nice repair John! You should’ve been on The ‘A’ Team! 😉😂 Just to say that the Adventure Spec version uses the fork clamps to fix the fairing which is really strong. You could do with making a similar bracket eventually to make some triangulation. The double-track where I live in France is just as unfriendly! 😂 You should try the Trans Euro Trail sometime!

John, why goggles and visor?
@JohnTYoung2 жыл бұрын
Goggles keep the dust and bugs out and keep air flowing. The visor down is biu proof but hot. Sunglasses with visor up works well until bugs or dust.

I guess I’m new to this channel and don’t understand… after the faring, bags, and all the other mods, why didn’t you get an adventure bike? (KTM 890, Tenere 700, Africa Twin). Just seems like after all of that you are spending the same amount of money anyway without the benefits of more power and stability.
@JohnTYoung2 жыл бұрын
Ah, the money question. I’m sure I answered it in one of my vids somewhere. Thanks for watching!
@RMC20212 жыл бұрын
@@JohnTYoung I probably worded that wrong… my main point wasn’t the money, my main point is what led to this route instead of an adventure bike? I was just pointing out that obviously the cost would be the same or close to it.

@@RMC2021 if you can point me to the ADV bike that weighs way less than 400lbs, comes with a top of the shelf suspension, is dead reliable… People buy 16000 KTM and then spend 2000 on a new suspension. T7, same thing. And mine weighs 325lbs. Sorry, don’t mean to be short, but if you watch thru the vids I articulate that better, I think.
@RMC20212 жыл бұрын
@@JohnTYoung now that makes perfect sense to me… weight. For the record I’m on a 2022 450RL and don’t have an adventure bike nor plan on getting one. I just saw all of your mods and wondered why but now I know so thanks.

Hmm- so that’s what MadCows dis-ease looks like- You start seeing everything sideways. InsaneAntelope dis-ease didn’t sound like much fun either. I already know that crazy looking thing runng near me would have freaked me out fo sure. We clearly are working our way-up to a serious Bear encounter here- I just hope he’s not a man-killer.
