I ride a lot solo, all adv, all pedal packing and backpacking, lots of dirtbike and snowmobiling etc... Yeah you learn a lot when things get difficult, weather is harsh, your body hurts, your in the middle of nowhere or stuff breaks but always when later reflect on often those parts made the trip something extra special. Be that a failed or successful adventure. Maybe I am a, "without suffering there is no happiness" type of person. Certainly soloing is a whole different experience IMO.

We have Beta's, 450L's and KTM 1090Rs all decked out with the Mosko and Wolfman gear. Just need to not work so much and commit to the time to do one. You've inspire me to do a solo and document the trip to share. I've enjoyed your channel for awhile now and see the beauty in sharing the experience of a journey like you have done. Way to persevere and finish it up after all the mechanical issues! Great bush fixes along the way. Amazing you have 19,000 miles on the 450L. I’m almost at 10,000 on mine with no big issues other than my subframe breaking due to overloading and that pesky washboard trail. I installed the new tusk panniers slightly modified with Kriega plates and bags. So far it’s holding up strong. Rides better now by lowing the CG. Love the snow plow moment! Lol. Keep em coming. @@JohnTYoung hey John, I'm watching all the videos and enjoying them! Quick question (I hope you don't mind) I'm getting a new Husky FE 501S apart from all the normal stuff you have to put on these bikes if you had the $ for either a steering stabilizer or Rekluse clutch which would you do, which has been most useful to you? I'm a 61 year old ex trials rider so know how to use a clutch..and with that it turned into a long question.. 😬

Started getting a bit too sketchy and seeing as you were the ONLY person riding, I had seen on the whole BDR, I found a wide spot and called it good. As I pile miles on my own Honda 450, sometimes I look at the used market and think: "Gee, I could buy somebody's new 'buyer's remorse' bike with low miles, transfer my aftermarket parts to it, and then sell my old bike with stock parts for a couple thousand dollars penalty. A newer bike, far from needing a rebuild and low cumulative wear would just about be worth it". What do you think? Been down that thought train with your own 450L? I guess it would depend on how a person values their time vs dollars and how sentimental they are about their bike.
