This song has taunted me for 23 years (I am 31 now). I first heard it in 1997 when I was 7/8 years old. I was on a school trip to Henley Fort in Guildford. The only lyric which stuck with me was 'WHY OH WHY' and the tune. I've hummed it to people angrily hoping they could tell me what it is. No help. So for 23 years its been in my head but I never found out what it was. Untill today!! 23 years PEOPLE!!

Your mistake was probably trying to get others of your own age to figure out what it was, when you should have targeted people 15-20 years older than you and they could have told you sooner. I'm a metal head but I remember hearing this one on the radio. If you think that's bad, I've been on the lookout for a 70's cartoon since I was little and all I know about it was there was a little boy who found a secrete passageway and he went exploring. Now in my 40's and still can't find that cartoon movie that captivated little 6 or 7 year old me. I know the feeling! It may seem trivial sure but I bet it feels so liberating. Congrats!
@benreilly59513 жыл бұрын
@@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism agree with you on this. I had to ask my brother about The Art of Sound. As soon as I hummed the beat to him he knew exactly what the tune was. If I didn't I'd still be humming the song like a clueless fool. Thank God for older brothers and of course elders in general.

When a real artist produces a real masterpiece, it is noticed. This is Wyclef's. Every Tarantino movie is good, but Inglorious Basterds is his masterpiece, even though several others are masterpieces. Chuck Palahniuk has written a dozen books, but Fight Club and Invisible Monsters are stand-in-history. Martin wrote so much, but A Game of Thrones is going to be remembered as a masterpiece.

This fell in my lap. I forgot how impactful this was to me as a kid. Very comforting and easy listening. Of course I had zero idea what it was about then. I remember being in my moms room on a Friday night the 1st time I heard this. Nostalgia.

Always wondered how it feels to have to travel to feed your family, yet be separate from them for extended periods of time. It has to hurt, but a lot of people in the world are living that reality today.

God willing, you will soon. Just remember that they are yours. Even though you're separated from them, it makes them more precious and not less.

Clarence Clayborne Aint about touring. This song's about some poor dude making a "run" to the border to buy drugs. If he gets busted he'll be gone till November. He sings about his "legal problems" and that he hopes to be out to see his son's graduation.

I was 12 years old, loving this song.... turned 18 and was sentenced to 15 years at 85% ... did the math and realized, I’d be gone until November. 💯

To ALL Those that we loved & THAT we lost on that one last run; THAT one last trip we begged them, crying, NOT to take. SO many people don't truly get the lyrics in THEIR soul. I've known people for YEARS that thought THIS was a love song; in a way it can be. If you EVER loved someone THAT had an addiction. A WHOLE trap song. The definition of IT. & Me, coming from the DMV area; AKA Baltimore..& to those I lost & NEVER came back. IT haunts me. You ALL were so VERY loved and supported & will NEVER be forgotten.We've lost some Epic AMAZING souls that just struggled, & didn't make it out; we miss you. & If you're struggling, PLEASE try & reach out for help.. Nobody wants to tell your kids, OR your Mom,or your other half, Sorry for your loss.. THAT one last run, can take you out. Even if you feel sooo alone, you're NOT. Trust & believe you're NOT. SENDING so much Love,SUPPORT, PRAYERS, and Positive Vibes out there. Wyclef nailed THIS; MORE than any OTHER artist I know to date. 🙏🏼🙏🏼💕💕💫💫✨✨
