Hi where can I buy the clamp you removed at 18 minutes I have a leak on that joint and also is there a gasket between that dpf and turbo joint?
@moremolecules18 күн бұрын
I think that clamp is called turbo V clamp. Probably 66mm, but not too sure. As far as I remember there is no gasket between the turbo itself and the exhaust start, simply they are held tpgether pretty tight with the v-clamp. E-bay has a few of these, just search turbo v-clamp 1.6hdi or tdci, depending on your engine of course.

very good information, just wondering if you have ever come across a fault with these engines where the air filter get very dirty quite quickly with carbon soot, I also notice quite a bit of soot on the back of the engine around the air filter box, I just watched another vbid on the egr valve you made so will be giving that a clean, just wondering if that might have anything to do with it, either thank you for your videos, they have been really helpful.

Interesting video. I recently had the rear bulb go out on my berlingo and i tried 3 different new bulbs none of them work. It seems as if water got into the electronics inside the light but i have no idea what to do. I have thought of doing the bsi reset, or maybe just clean it
@moremolecules23 күн бұрын
I always thought that the BSI reset does nothing pretty much. I have tried it so many different times, according to how it should be done, but never cured anything. You could try a multimeter and see if you get volts and a wire is not broken somewhere. Not on Berlingo, but on my 307, there was a common fault where the wire will burn out and the earth needed to be put on proper metal of the bulb holder.

Thank you for video. I do have Honda Accord 2000 ex v4. Recently I did some service of the brake parts. The caliper is mounted on the front side. On one wheel, I was confused with the pin with rubber sleeve. When I went to the second one, the pin with rubber pin is located on the top. Now the steering wheel vibrate at high speed and braking. Do you have any idea about this? Thanks
@moremolecules23 күн бұрын
Hmm, it should not vibrate, but if I were you I would take them apart again and see if something is not quite right. These rubber pins tend to swell if the correct grease is not used. Double check that they slide in/out freely.

Hi, Right now I have a volvo c30 with the same engine. What I am experiencing now is blowback from the valve. Dont know if its diesel or oil, or both. But its getting sucked in by the turbo and its slowly corroding my intake hoses (already changed once). Do you think its the membrane or other underying issues? Thinking of opening it and taking a look Hope you see this, Thanks in advance! PS: Have changed oil 2 times, during that I did an engine flush and also injector cleaning solution through the fuel as just a temporary fix.
@moremolecules25 күн бұрын
Yes, most likely a torn membrane, but could also be something else, pison blow-by or something else. Definitely open it and see if the membrane is intact and in any case replace it to be certain. Most of the membrane kits come with a sping and membrane. If I were you if the spring is intact, I would not replace it as it is supposed to be calibrated.

@moremolecules25 күн бұрын
@@Brian-rs2lt Have you seen if there is excessive crankcase pressure? A bit subjective, but while the engine is running (idle), with opened oil filler cap, see if the blow-by pressure, or the force of the gasses coming out is quite a lot or kind of normal. Be careful not to scald yourself. Normally an A4 piece of paper should do with that, should be lifted a little bit, but not too much. As I said, it is a bit subjective.
@Brian-rs2lt25 күн бұрын
@@moremolecules Hi, so I did the test. Warm engine and I dont think it's looking good. At idle, its basically like placing the paper at the exhaust or worse. Heavy blowing and spitting oil everywhere. So im assuming its internal problem.

How about changing fuel filter? Is that needed?
@moremolecules28 күн бұрын
These 307 engines do not have a fuel filter, unless you live in a country that do have, hahaha. Mone does not and most do not have a fuel filter, but you can double check, if your car has one, it will be next to the fuel tank, just follow the fuel line. Not too sure why they decided not to have one, I suspect that the fuel injectors are quite cheap and fairly easy to replace.

I do not take orders for these. It was mainly to do my own conversion and share it in case other people also want to do that. Screen printing is probably the best way to do it, but that paper one also works.

My 2007 307 HDI with 170.000 , once the engine starts, I notice a rough idle and misfiring, only with cold engine. The engine struggle to run smoothly until it warms up and then it’s ok. Do you think it could be the glow plugs ? The dashboard glow plugs light never comes on ! Could be the relay ? Thaaank you !
@moremolecules29 күн бұрын
Yeah, mine has done that for quite some time now and it is not the glow plugs or thr relay (I have changed both). I suspect it is a little bit of slippage of oil from the turbo and burning oil is not really smooth for the engine. Have a look at the exhaust fumes when this happens and most likely you will see a bit of puff of blue-ish smoke, once that clears the running is smooth.
@bernatcarnerbonet325129 күн бұрын
@@moremolecules thank you i will look the fumes. I was wondering if I need to take it to the mechanic for having a look or not. I was fancy to change the glow plugs but not sure as you say if it’s the cause of the problem , in addition there is the risk to break the plug inside the block … Once the engine is warm it runs perfectly fine , it’s just the cold start that sounds and vibrates ugly.
@moremolecules29 күн бұрын
@@bernatcarnerbonet3251 Yeah, forgot to say that the 1.6HDi does not really need the glow plugs, unless the temperature is really low, say <3C. If the temp is anything >5C they do not switch on. The 1.6HDi are not like the older 1.9D where they light up every single time, so that is why you do not see them on. Difficult to say, should you give it to a mechanic. I have not yet traced the problem, but if you take it to a mechanic and it get fixed, let me know😁

@@moremolecules thank you for your advice. I have sent videos and explained the issue to my experienced local mechanic who deals with my cars except for for 307 which is my school car for practicing , so he told me some points I’m going to to translate and summarise for you. He already told me it’s not the glow plugs. I live in Barcelona and temps are around 20C now when cold !

This seems quite a bit. At least my Haynes manual says 3.25L including the filter for the petrol 1.6 version. 4.5L is quite bit more, unless it is a different model than my 1.6, say 2.0L or a diesel?

Yeah, I bought a torque wrench that goes from 2 - 24Nm. If you do not want to buy another one, you can simply just check the nuts without putting too much pressure, simply to see if they are not loose.
