Thank you for getting back to me on that. Can you explain in a bit more detail what is involved in making it possible for me to carry out and follow your advice where you've said, 'The new EGR needs to be recalibrated with PP2000, otherwise it might not work'. How will I be able to do that, please, after I have fitted a new replacement EGR Valve? What is a PP2000, where would I be able to get one, and how do I use it to recalibrate the EGR Valve?
@moremolecules5 сағат бұрын
OK, now I assumed from the error message that it was a Peugeot. Might be Citroen as well, same thing, no difference. A new EGR might or most likely not work as intended. What I mean by that is that the CPU will not know where the max/min of that EGR valve is. You might be lucky and the new EGR might work pretty well, or well enough, but you might not be, difficult to tell. The appropriate procedure is when a new EGR is put in to be recalibrated with Diagbox or PP2000 software for Peugeot and Lexia for Citroen. It is a proprietary software from PSA. You can get an "illegal" one from ebay with OBDII connector. Here is my procedure for calibrating the EGR: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqSWaqecntmiqdE

Can you kindly tell me EXACTLY WHERE the TURBOCHARGER BOOST SENSOR is on this vehicle please??? Today, I hooked up my Citroen Berlingo 1.6 HDi Diesel van (which is identical to your Peugeot Partner above) to an OBDC CODE READER, (because I have a 'Check Engine' (amber light) engine outline symbol constantly illuminating on my dashboard), which has been showing there for the last 2630.26 miles that I have been using/driving this vehicle, (as reported by the Code Reader), and I want to get rid of this Engine malfunction light, once and for all! The reader returned the following codes:- P0238 Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Sensor 'A' Circuit High . The other codes it returned are all related to (as I suspected) a malfunctioning EGR Valve, and these are as follows:- P0401 'Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected' P0405 'Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor 'A' Circuit Low' P0489 'Exhaust Gas Recirculation Throttle Control 'A' Circuit Low' P0490 'Exhaust Gas Recirculation Throttle Control 'A' Circuit High' P1162 'Faults : Position Repeat of the EGR valve' I've ordered a brand new replacement EGR Valve (the complete unit ) from Ebay for £39.49p which I will just swap out for this defective one on my vehicle, (following the step by step guidance in your video above, and that will take care of and rectify all of these EGR trouble codes). But I don't know where to find the Turbocharger BOOST SENSOR, (So that I can make sure that that is clean and properly fully functional - with good electrical connections), which is why I thought I would ask you. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me with this!
@moremolecules12 сағат бұрын
As far as I know there is no boost sensor per se, it is calculated from several sensors.There is a pressure sensor on the throttle EGR body (that is how it is called if I remember correctly), one straight after the intercooler. That could have failed. Also, take it one by one. The new EGR needs to be recalibrated with PP2000, otherwise it might not work.

Hi there recently i had an issue with my Peugeot partner escapade 16hdi engine. During our Christmas 150mile trip i noticed the side of the engine full of oil. The level of oil was very low but the coolant level was still good. I noticed a strange noise since the oil got on the alternator belt hence why I noticed that something was wrong. Lately i changed the injector studs, and valve cover since they were leaking oil and the membrane of the valve cover was perished. After a good clean, replaced the alternator belt and filled again the oil the engine worked fine. Did another 200miles with it. Do you have an idea what would have caused this?
@moremolecules12 сағат бұрын
Which side is that? If it is over the alternator it is the throttle EGR body that leaks, the one after the intercooler. There have been quite a few reports that leaking and needs resealing or buying a new one. Dificult to reseal.
@andreaborg41644 сағат бұрын
Yes it was on the alternator side of the engine. It made a real mess infact the oil level was really low after that, and before the trip the oil level was full. It could be because of the high milage i made on the first day of the trip, since normally i dont travel that much of long distance.
@moremolecules3 сағат бұрын
@@andreaborg4164 I doubt it is due to the mileage. Check if the rubber hoses from the intercooler are intact and have not come apart or there is a split or something.
@andreaborg41643 сағат бұрын
@@moremolecules the rubber hoses seem to be intact with no splits and are tight. It is normal to have that high amount of oil passing through the intercooler system?

Very good video with an EXCELLENT level of DEEP DETAIL! (I have a Citroen Berlingo 2007 1.6 HDi 75kw/55kw First Enterprise diesel van - so everything is identical to what you have shown here). I think I may need to do this on my own vehicle: I really like your style of 'How-to' (do any given task on whatever vehicle you happen to be dealing with). This is the best example of this I have ever seen on KZbin. I just checked how much a NEW EGR Valve would cost for my vehicle (matched to my Registration number) from Euro Car Parts. (£170.00 for the Starline version - and £112.00 for the Wahler version - of this particular EGR Valve). Horrendously EXPENSIVE (for what it actually is), so it makes perfect sense to go to the small amount of time and effort to take off and clean the existing one, as you have done in this video. I have had to carry out multiple tasks on this vehicle over time, in the 6 years I have owned it, with only one of those HAYNES manuals to guide me, but these HAYNES MANUALS are ABSOLUTE SHIT. Really low quality garbage and a total waste of good money! (The photographs in these manuals are TERRIBLE, poorly focused black and white 'bog-standard' quality, and the instructions and explanations are very sketchy and limited, with a lot of important details left out, that you have to discover and work out for yourself when you come to doing the particular task on whatever vehicle it is covering at the time - in most cases. Anyway, with all of that said, the point is, after watching this video of yours, I will now be able to CONFIDENTLY DUPLICATE everything you've just shown, AND be able to fully understand what to do, how to do it, and WHY I need to do it, (when it comes to overhauling and cleaning my own EGR Valve on my Citroen Berlingo van)! What I love about this vehicle is that it is very easy and nice to drive, and very reliable, and it is delightfully economical on fuel - so I use it for all of my day-to-day, and longer-distance commuting from A to B, for both my personal and work-related use, and it gives me great service and value.

Hola para apretar son 10Nm y desapretar 8 ò 9??
@moremolecules6 күн бұрын
Well, yes, generally that is the PSA recommendation. Obviously, most torque wrenches would not do torque backwards and unlikely that the unscrewing will be lower than the actual torque. The advice is to start from 8Nm with a torque wrench that can actually do reverse torque and try unscrewing it and then one increases the torque with 1-2Nm until it unscrews.

Sure, but I do not want to explain how you would run your engine hot, hotter than the design of the engine allowed. At the end of the day EGR not only allows for the reduction of NOx, but also the reduction of the combustion temperature, less oxygen less combustion temperature. When you have blocked your EGR not only you have higher NOx, but also higher cylinder combustion temperature for long periods of time. I am sure you will tell me nothing bad has hapenned, but most people that do that sell their car not too long afterwards and never experience the bad ide effects. Well, at the end of the day one cannot run a car forerver.

Always install the trailing pin (one with rubber ring) on the side of the caliper bracket where the rotor rotation is leaving/exiting the caliper bracket. That’s it.
@moremolecules10 күн бұрын
Aha, and where there is no rubber ring as with my case?
@Mike_4410 күн бұрын
@ Then the pin with flat edges on it is the leading pin. Always use the disk rotation for reference. Trailing pin (usually with rubber ring) mounted on the exiting the rotation of the rotor, leading pin (flat sides) always goes mounted where the rotor moves towards the caliper rotor. Leading (towards)/trailing (away) from rotor rotation, respectively.

You do not need to turn the engine on. You have to double check that the neating produces heat afterwards and perhaps bleed all the points once, just to make sure that there is no air in the system.

@@Dani-zu3px It should be ok, do the coolant once, drive for a little bit and then bleed another time (once coolant cold). Drive it with the aircon on with heat on. At the end the air will go to the highest point in the system, the bleed valves, you simply bleed a little bit.

Is the EGR valve is attached on the motor block? shouldnt it be connected to exhaust manifold? Sorry if dumb Q
@moremolecules15 күн бұрын
Yes, it is attached to the engine, it is just that this part of the block you get the exhaust gasses and they cam be re-routed to the intake through a cooler. The other (exhaust manifold) is at the front in most cases, which operates all the time.

@moremolecules15 күн бұрын
As far as I know there is no antipollution sensor, it is a calculation for the other sensors. The antipollution might mean quite a few things, but generally it is probably the EGR getting stuck. You may want to clean it and see if that helps.
