Was very fortunate to attend quite a few of Doc Cheatham’s small club performances on the upper West side near Colombia University. He was such a good hearted and unassuming gentleman his rapport with his audience was almost immediate. At that time he would point his trumpet in the air as he played! I was in grad school at the time, so it had to be 83/84. He was a real throwback. He just stepped out of the past and did his thing to a most receptive and appreciative group of admirers! It’s great to see him here in such fine company (and the other way around)!

It's been ages since I had this much fun watching a concert. The experience was so profound, and I feel utterly fulfilled. Louis Armstrong's music is truly timeless and exquisitely beautiful. There's something about it that transcends time and space, reaching into the depths of emotions. Wynton and the entire band did an exceptional job here, capturing the essence of Armstrong's brilliance. As a jazz enthusiast, I was completely swept away by the waves of emotions that washed over me while listening to this performance. It's a testament to the power of music to connect us, to make us feel alive and deeply moved. In these moments, I'm reminded of the magic that music brings into our lives. It's more than just notes and rhythms; it's a journey that takes us to places we never knew existed. Thank you, Wynton, and the band, for creating this beautiful, soul-stirring experience.

If all the technicians of the scientific pithagorian understanding of sounds; had discovered the waves of music; the American performers has put artistry and innovative feelings into it. Do not get confused; they also placed technical newness into it. If “Libertos” landed in Barataria and New Orleans, with their beautiful screaming and hurting feelings and sand tunes; Louis put some lively sense of happiness and joy that we can now celebrate. Nice young keeper of culture Wynton, friendly band companions; you are doing so good. I love it!!

Because some of this is just not very good. Bad tempos - Louis’ constructions were partly governed by them; terrible opening and mistake in West End Blues; the great Ruby Braff unfortunately past his best; everyone trying to outdo each because of Wynton’s extreme tech presence; remorseless thumping rhythm; no sign of Louis’ deeply feeling spirit; Pizzarelli’s guitar solo ruined by the piano player; etc

If this is a tribute to Louis Armstrong then why isn't "when its sleepy time down south,Tiger rag,now you jazz, love is just around the corner, when the saints are marching in,someday(You will be sorry),and my favorite La Vié Én Rosé!!!!😡😡😡😩😩😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 in this tribute!! I would get my money back because these are some of the most memorable songs ever especially when he played with trummy young(trombone player),Mort Herbert(bass),peanut hucko(clarinet player),billy Kyle(piano),and Danny Barcelona(drums) back in 1959 in Belgium😭😭😭😭 I miss the old version/original versions of these songs... And I'm 17 years old..,😭😭

Carrizales _2017 This was mostly Armstrong songs from 1925 - 1929, the Hot 5, the Hot 7, the new Hot 5 (with Earl Hines) Potato Head, Tight like This, West End Blues, Weather Bird Blues, Strutting with some Barbecue are some of the very important Armstrong recordings from that time

Esos micrófonos senheizer son de lo peor para trompeta un sonido tan plástico, el peor uso que le pueden dar es ocuparlo para trompeta. De lo peor, como menoscaban el sonido de esos grandes músicos.
