I always enjoy watching you turn a lidded box and then chase threads! I have all the thread chasing tools...now I need to learn to do it.

I still enjoy the box you made, that I bought at the Oregon Symposium auction. Maybe I will get brave someday and learn threading. But not yet, since I am still working on mastering UN-threaded boxes!!!

Lignum Vita is a favorite of mine. A little pricey but worth it to chase threads. Thanks

Beautiful box Sam. I am just going to have to get myself a set of thread chasers.

Why did it not surprise me that you would turn a box for this 4 way! Over the years I've seen so many of your beautiful boxes. You've been my inspiration for box turning for many years! Thanks for sharing this and for the four of you entertaining and teaching us! Take care, Dave

That's a very nice little box Sam. Lignum Vite is a great wood to turn. It makes beautiful projects. You did quite well by it. I love the color and the shape you choose. And I thought you did a pretty good grain match. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂 🙂

Dogwood is also called American boxwood. We have several dogwoods on the property that we live on. The don’t get very big but we find the occasional blowdown or dropped limb. I have used it on an infill mallet. It is very hard.

A lovely little box. Box wood is hard to get with the blight. Thanks for another fine and entertaining video.

Again, a great video! I so much appreciate your and the other three fine professionals doing this monthly. I have learned from each of you. You fellas are looking younger and younger. Must be because of your work each month for us. Love your box.

Very nice piece Sam. Enjoyed watching the thread chasing and the over-all design as it developed. It's interesting seeing what each of you is picking as a favorite project -- quite a varied group of projects.

If you can get your hands on some persimmon wood. it's called American Ebony or white ebony. it makes wonderful threads.

I loved the video. It seems to me that one of the beads could have been at the joint to hide the joint.

Nice job, Sam. I like Lignam Vitae but agree it is difficult to work with. Curious as to why you switched internal chasing tools (started with Maeves (sp?) & Warwick and switched to Robert Sorby).

You have a good eye I was simply having trouble chasing these threads and tried a different brand of chaser. My thread chaser was guming up with his greasy wood.

Very nice project and video. One question. Around 11:00 in the video your tool rest post has a hose clamp on it about 1" above the top of the clamp. What do you use this for? Thanks, Myles

Sam, two of that convict's ads. I watch product ads, but I don't want political ads, especially that convict.
