Wyrmspan vs Wingspan Review!

I’m one of the people that thought Wingspan was meh, so although Wyrmspan sounds better, it probably won’t be joining my collection. I am curious to try it at some point, though. Thanks for the breakdown!!!

I agree that Wingspan is just okay. But a lot of people love it, so it stayed in the collection. Until Wyrmspan which is a better game with a theme I prefer that fans of Wingspan will still enjoy.

Going to try to table this today with me wife! She loves Wingspan and is such a huge dragon fan, that she demanded I buy this. She doesn’t do that often, so I decided to spend the gold to get it!

The game looks complicated but really we figured it out pretty quickly. Wyrmspan is better than Wingspan in my opinion for one major reason, the habitats are more varied. Taking eggs isn't a must-do on the last round like most times in Wingspan.

Im really "starving" for playing this one, it seem to "fix" all of the things that i was more worried about the eggs and the endgame that finish so abruptly. And yes the gold its pretty!!

I think Wingspan is all right, but my wife loves it so it stays. As for Wyrmspan--the weird thing is that I like dragons, but oddly enough, I actually prefer this system with birds rather than dragons. Maybe it's because the made-up dragons for Wyrmspan aren't really consequential in any way or something, but despite my like of dragons, it's the theme that's putting me off of Wyrmspan. I think if it were another living creature type instead of dragons, like fish or reptiles or something else, I would have been more interested in an updated Wingspan, but I guess I'm okay with sticking to Wingspan, even if I'm not fond of the birdfeeder resource mechanic.

Oh how interesting! I can relate for sure because here I was hoping it’d be frogs 🐸 🤣 but I get you-maybe we’re more inclined for dragons to be in war game-esque types of games vs engine building ones, but if you ever get a chance to try it out, Wyrmspan might surprise you! It’s super fun 🐉

Wingspan Asia was really nice, no need to play it at 3+ player count. Shudders. Wyrmspan will be a try before buy. If it were flamecraft dragons it would be an instant buy. Don't really like the art as is.
