"As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on tourism, Africa's wildlife rangers are facing threats to their jobs, communities and the endangered wild animals they risk their lives to protect. On October 3rd, more than one thousand rangers from across Africa will be competing in a virtual race to raise money to support thousands of their ranger colleagues.

Yes they are in pre-production, but filming may be delayed and they won't start until the covid situation is under control. It is quite a challenge on such a big filming production. The cast are still keeping safe in their individual countries as you can see, cos traveling is also a concern. The cast and crew safety takes priority over everything.
