Upgrading the SSP5 - step by step

1. Bend/shape the leaf spring or replace (AIP, COWCOW, CL design)
2. Trim the nozzle or replace (AIP, Guarder, Edge)
3. Replace bucking (Modify X-range, PDI W hold)

Do you know if it's worth trying to ilprove gas efficiency ? Is changing the piston head for a better and ventilated one worth it ? What about bucking change to improve hop ? Thank you a whole lot for your awesome design and the videos. Love your chill vibe!

A slightly longer o-ring piston would help, not a lot. The stock bucking hops and shoots straight, but you can try the PDI W hold or Modify X-range and see if you like it.

What's your experience with 5ku frames did you have any problems with fitment? I'm thinking of buying one for my custom hi capa and the 1/3 of the price of an AM frame is pretty tempting but I'm not sure about fitment.

Does the ssp5 require a hammer protection pad? Had mine for about a week. And i can clearly see marks on the frame from the hammer 🙂

It settles down, but avoid dry firing it without a mag.

What is the size of the stock SSP5 frame? From pictures it looks like a 4.3? I'm thinking of scratch building an SSP5 but want to still attach the front end to the frame. Either with the stock clamp block or drilling a hole in the aftermarket frame for the bolt. I think one of the best features of this gun is the fixed front end. I noticed some (if not all - minus the stock gun of course) of the builds in this video omit the front locking design.

I don't notice any difference in performance in not clamping it, but if you want to screw it to the frame, get a 4.3 advanced frame.

quick question if i buy 5ku middle frame can i use stock ssp5 safety, beavertail, and hammer on it? or should i just get the 5ku safety and beavertail aip hammer also can i clamp the front part of the ssp5 with the 5ku middle frame 4.3 size on my ssp5

You can use everything except the hammer, the SSP5/KJ hammer is not 100% TM spec. You need to dremel/mill the front slide if you want to fit 4.3 frame and have clamping. The Creatical chamber fits with very little wobble so I'd use a shorter frame to save the trouble.

alr thanks! another question if you dont mind so do i just remove the clamp thing and just use the screw ill be using 3.9 5ku frame and do you think it would be a good upgrade to buy a 140% nozzle spring and maybe a 120% recoil spring or should i just stick with ssp5
