He reunites with Jasmine, his teenage daughter (Eden Brolin) and together they journey through the desert guided by a makeshift map. Their destination is a mysterious location marked by an X.

(spoiler alert) _THERE'S A FEATURE IN THIS_ ... so, Josh & Co. -- please fill it out with a before & after. Obviously, you'll need to tell it in a Flashback as it's (in 2020) all of 13 years later -- but amigo, there _IS_ a rest of a film this. (Maybe think GODFATHER II and III as a device ..?) It reminded me of one of them 70's road pictures ... Part VANISHING POINT ... and even the undercurrents of CRAZY LARRY & DIRTY MARY ... Great McGuffin of the Mom that brought the Father & Daughter back together for the first time in years. If anything, find some lyricism that leads to the irony of how he left the little girl to suddenly returning from his aborted stay in prison to the woman she is becoming. In short, Bravo-! Characters that are like father, like daughter. Much respect. D.A.

Why not give the mortician screen credit? Interesting story. I'm not sure why she blames the Mortician for "killing her daddy." I guess he called the coppers? They didn't show him having time to do so.

I disagree. If you know anything about filmmaking or art of any level -- there was buckets of heart in this. Likely everyone did this as a labor of love. I felt it real in oh-so many-layers unspoken.
