@@SJR_Media_Group Same AI in Ghost bat was also put in UK Taranis drone back in 2013 Well same Aussies built the AI systems.. Probably way more advanced by now and that Aussie AI is in other USA drones and military weapons. Not sure how good Anduril AI is but Anduril Australia helped Australia build a AI submersible drone and it also uses the same Aussie AI as Ghost bat and is named Ghost shark another Australian animal as a tribute to Ghost bat. Same AI is in a VTOL quad copter Australia built to be a loyal wingman for Australian helicopters too. seen they will put it on Australian navy ships and the Australian LHD landing ships also..

the DARPA people are automating everything, and working like they paychecks depend on them developing new tech. The army and the politicians are a bunch of grunts who do what they are told by their bosses. The usa is preparing for war with China and Russia at the same time, so the USA isn't really super...... motivated to release all our new weapons systems. Like the systems we have to take down drones with lasers and microwaves. Not super gonna put all that shtt out there for everyone to see and react to.

I'd grade that landing "ok". (it's a joke. My understanding is that every landing is graded with either some shortcoming or else, if the landing was perfect, it is graded 'ok'.)
@miketurner7269
@miketurner7269 14 күн бұрын
An "OK" landing is a "4.0" on the grading scale. Minimum deviations, minor corrections. About the best one can hope for under regular carrier conditions. But definitely not a "perfect pass". A "Fair" pass is a 3.0 - average deviations, average corrections. A solid, safe pass, but nothing to write home about. A "No Grade" pass is a 2.0 - below average deviations, below average corrections. Not that uncommon for new pilots, and occasionally rears it's head for more senior aviators who are having a bad day behind the boat. Navy pilots on their first cruise typically have mostly Fair passes with few OKs and No Grades sprinkled in there. Navy pilots on their second and subsequent deployments will typically have more OK passes interspersed with Fairs and maybe a few no grades. But there is such a thing as an "OK Underlined" - a 5.0 pass. Generally given for decent-to-good landings under unusually trying circumstances such as significant aircraft emergencies and adverse weather conditions that make the pass unusually difficult. Very rare - most Navy pilots probably have just a handful of these if any. In over 400 carrier landings, I think I have maybe 2 OK underlined passes. These are kind of like unicorns. An "OK underlined" grade is probably the closest one can get to a "perfect pass". In reality there is no such thing - there is always something about every pass that could be improved. Landing on carriers (all manual landings in my case) is the most precise thing with the lowest margin for error that I have ever participated in, but hugely rewarding when the light bulb comes on and you start flying good safe passes.

That was a stupid reply. Figure the maintenance costs on old equipment, plus the extra money spent on personnel to perform the maintenance, the fuel cost for the very fuel inefficient engines and the old heavier nom-composite airframes and wings versus replacing the fleet. It’s not like the government can’t print money to pay for it. It’s already proven it LOOOOVES to print money willy nilly. I bet a new aircraft would pay for itself in 5~6 years.

There’s no such thing as an “Unmanned Combat Drone.” This combination of incongruent terms has been designed with specific political objectives. First of all “Unmanned” implies the opposite “Manned”. And the word “Manned” implies that machines have a human aspect. According to that logic, an F-35 has a computer and a man, so it’s partly human insofar as it “bridges the gap” between man and machine. And if you accept that argument, then even if the F-35 is “Unmanned” it’s still partially-manned by “artificial intelligence” which is a semi-human and thus morally legitimate decision-maker. Almost human. And if the F-35 has an almost human decision-maker on board, then the entire machine is almost human. So it deserves the same careful protection offered to any human. Obviously an F-35 can fly, but it can’t make decisions because it’s only a machine. Circuit boards aren’t human. So machines can’t “engage” in combat. They can only respond to user inputs. A laptop computer can’t love you, or hate you, or fight you. It’s not human. An F-35 can’t “combat” anything. But if an F-35 with artificial intelligence “hates” you, then it can combat. It’s a hating, almost human, morally qualified, decision-maker. Robocop. Now imagine that the Pentagon put a bunch of human brains into an aquarium, and then wired them to the F-35. Those brains are human, so they can hate. And they have a good internet connection, so they’re fully human, hating, morally qualified decision makers who “project” their consciousness into the real world for the purpose of killing real people whose brains don’t occupy a remote place of physical safety. They can’t lose. The word “Drone” means an autonomous machine. So now there’s an [Unmanned by a physical human]-[Combat as psychological warfare]-[Drone which can’t be held responsible for anything because it’s actions can’t be traced to the human minds which are the true source of control]. The Matrix. Israel has huge underground medical facilities where these brains are kept alive. Thousands of them. Japan also. Russia also. The D.O.D. Rocky Mountain Underground also. Finding and destroying a hundred thousand pickled brains is impossible. It can’t be done. But turning-off all the electricity in the world for a hundred years CAN be done. It’s the only choice.
