Mach 9.6? Are you sure about that number? I doubt that as the actual final number would be “classified.” I think without a heat shield 9.6 would melt the airplane. Really. It would.

Godda luv the hyperbole injected into the title. Mach 9.6 indeed. The airframe alone would not survive anything close to that. The wing pitch would oscillate them into failure. Then engine alone isn’t capable. Its top speed is 0.9 which is a far cry from 9.6
