I am devastated. Todd was my principal at bell Sherman elementary and ran the camp at Stewart park I was so poor as a kid he paid for me to go to camp and helped me make friends. Todd and Sandra Washington showed me so much love when no one else would. I left ithaca years ago and just came across this. I’ve never been more homesick in my life

Todd was my friend. He mentored my son. My heart is still broken from the loss. Thank you for this, Sam. And if he's out there, he heard it, and he's so very proud. He's so happy you didn't forget.

You touch people in ways you never even know. When my boys were 11 and 13 their dad was given a terminal cancer diagnosis. That summer they wanted to spend all the time they could with their dad, it was heartbreakingly beautiful, and we soaked up every minute. But their dad was sick, very sick and as summer drew to a close I just wanted them to have a week to be *boys*, to be kids again, I just wanted so much for them to have a break- and all of Ithaca told me to “go see Todd”. Without even thinking about it for a single second- he said, “you bring your boys here (SPDC) Monday morning- we’ve got you, we’ve got them.” Todd didn’t care that camp was full, Todd graciously opened those arms of his wide, and brought our family right in and my boys got to be boys again for a wonderful two weeks. This mama will forever be so grateful and so touched. Thank you for a truly fitting tribute.

Thank you for making this about my great uncle. It’s been hard for me to deal with his death and I’ve been avoiding it and at one point I almost forgot what his voice sounded like, lt has been so hard to accept the fact that he’s gone, especially since he was always around for the first 17 years of my life. Seeing so many of my family members in this video brings back a lot. Seeing my mom in this video (Jodie Washington), she passed away as well, means so much to me. I feel like I’m rambling and you guys probably won’t see this but from the bottom of my heart thank you so much for making this I wish could give you all a hug he loved you so much. All he did was talk about how proud he was of you and how the X Ambassadors are his boys and how much he loves you. Thank you to all of the amazing people commenting. He was, and still is, so loved and cherished. I Love and miss you so much Uncle Toddy. I’m so sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye. I turned 20 today, I wish you were here to celebrate with me. Thank you for helping to raise me and my little sister and all of our cousins, and always teaching me new things and life lessons. I will never forget everything you’ve taught me. You are the one of the main reasons why I’m able to be who I am today and one of the main reasons why I’ll make sure to make as big of an impact on this earth as you did. And do as much for others as you have. I hope the world is able to hear this song and people are able to see what everyone in Ithaca already knew, how much of an amazing person you were. All of the world will now know your name and love you as much as we do❤️

The tears flowed when I saw Todd, he was the heart of Belle Sherman, when my 4 kids were there in between '82-'92. He mentored so many kids in Ithaca in so many ways shariing his talents and compassions. Beautiful song about a beautiful person. Thank you.

Todd Peterson was an incredible person who inspired me to strive to try to be a positive person who lights up other people’s lives and the world. He taught me that at a young age. He was my gym teacher at BJM! I’m sad and sorry to hear that Todd passed away. Such a moving song. Someone commented on the happy people song that it would be cool if these musicians were in your town out on the lawn, and I thought, sounds like Ithaca, my hometown! Sounds like the Fall Creek and Trumansburg Porchfest. The images of Ithaca Falls looked so familiar, and I saw the images of Chanticleer, and I was amazed! Lol, don’t forget about your hometown-it’s my hometown!

Todd was Ithaca’s mentor and he is missed so much. When I was new to Ithaca and struggling to find my space he made me the first girl to captain a kickball team at Belle Sherman and it made such a difference for me. Todd and I remained close and became friends as adults. We confided in each other. Our accomplishments and disappointments. His passing had a profound effect on me and clearly on you guys too. Thank you for this tribute song. It brought tears to my eyes to see and hear him during his best years. How nice to see Jodie and so many others we have lost. Thank you ❤️

I remember Todd being the best camp Director. There was anytime I would be going to camp and he would just light up the room make it a bunch of kids smile laugh. He just wanted us to have a really really great time but in our reality all of us know he was fighting depression Anxiety but the cool thing about Todd Peterson was nothing ever let him down rest in peace, Todd Peterson

😢 i watched this too early in the morning. I had a small group of amazing teachers at an alt high school thats the only reason i graduated after being expelled. I made the mistake of not going back/ getting in contact until i heard about ones untimely passing. Remember to reach out to the ones who showed you the way, while you can still enjoy your progress together.

went to all the same camp and schoos y'all did. im also currently making music and I wish he could be here to hear it. I know he would be so proud. strangly, I had a dream about him in triangle/bell park. he told me he'd keep visiting me in my dreams every couple years to check on me, and after I asked him how he was here, since he had passed, he told me he just smiled at me. I have so many memories of him at spdc, and bs, he taught me so much. We were very close. Thank you for making this song, it made me cry.

You know, since I was 11 I have been so desperate to leave my town for who knows where, and became a diehard fan of you guys when I discovered y'all on spotify for the first time. That was 2018. I'm 17 now and I still have the same dreams, but recently I realized due to some events in my life that I really need to slow down. I'm trying so hard to grow up so fast that I haven't been appreciating what's in front of me, so I made a channel to help me slow down and appreciate the little things. Y'all keep seeming to drop specific songs that have been reflecting in my life for the past 6 years and I love it 😭best wishes to you guys, love y'all
