X performs "Burning House of Love" live at the Farm Aid concert in Champaign, Illinois on September 22, 1985. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

The band may have emerged from LA, but some of the members did have country or small town backgrounds - I know Doe and Exene did at least. So they were probably somewhat sympathetic to it for tat reason.

Which way is America from here? I stupidly moved back to LA in about '83 and feels like I've been thrown face down into a pile of horse shit. At least X is around to give me some sympathy. Hollywood boulevard is still there last time I went out and checked, a couple weeks ago. Still trashville but not as bad as it used to be.
