I kid you not, as an amateur teen writer, I used to channel Stryfe's speaking style when my villains would talk. "For lo, I have wept bitterly these thousand moons, and the time for my reign of doom has come! Look upon my dark visage and wail, you pitiful cretins! I shall become INVINCIBLE!!!!!!" I made my grandmother buy me a thesauraus and I would look up words that sounded fancier than what I knew.

I had this issue back in the day. Greg Capullo is a beast!

The Cable character is closely tied to the X-men universe. I think it was a mistake of the writers to give Cable's AI computer assistant the name Professor.

I love what Capullo does now --- but I have to say I miss this style.

Same! Recently I flipped through his old x force and loved how fun the art is! I'm glad Todd is paying him great but I wish he'd draw a team book again back at marvel.

This creates a time loop where in the far off future, Apocalypse names the child clone "Stryfe" after an enemy he had in years past (as we see in this issue). Stryfe becomes the "Scion of the Dark Lord" and lives a life under the boot of Apocalypse and grows to hate him among many others he hates.

Stryfe and Sinister “birthed” every villain in the IMAGE verse

I always wonder how sweet the Capullo X-Force art would have looked without the bland inking of Harry Candelario. The one issue of X-Force where Richard Bennett inked Capullo's art(issue #24) showed what could have been without Candelario's bland inks.
