On the topic of mods, I'm a PS5 player, so obviously I can't mod my games there, but when I play on PC(rarely) I'm the type of guy who doesn't like to mod too much because I want to have as authentic of an experience as possible. Stuff like fixes to mechanics, graphical improvements, etc. Because if I were to mod Jason's whole ass voice into the game, as much as I love him, I then don't feel like I'm playing the same game, if you get what I mean.

The biggest shock to me is that EA Sports is still selling a lot, even without the FIFA branding. Also, Super Mario Jamboree just came out, and people are waiting for Mario & Luigi Brothership, so seeing the lower sales on Switch makes sense. The Arlo clip is very out of context. His point was explaining Sonic games from the perspective of a newcomer on their first run. That Sonic is about learning through multiple runs. If you watch the review he really likes what he played

While some of that is true, though even he said towards the end the game felt demanding for him, or how he went on the tangent of how the platforming in gens supposedly asked a lot out of a player. Which if that is his take on gens platforming, he might have a heart attack with unleashed. Though no hate on Arlo I do watch his reviews from time to time but even he admits he tapped out of the Sonic franchise after SA2 so he may not have boost style gameplay ingrained in him as much as the rest of us.

Also I agree with him that Shadow Gens really takes the best of base Gens and focuses on that. So it was more pleasant experience for him. I haven’t finished Shadow Gens yet to make a commentary on its endgame

Metal Sonic depends a lot on Eggman, but we're unsure whenever Jim Carrey will want to continue the series. I think the best stories that can cut him off are: - Riders - Shadow 05 - 06 (Elise would likely not happen because Flames of Disaster are in Knuckles) Frontiers is not a good movie material, so it could be mixed together with Adventure 1. And if Jim Carrey wants to do only one more movie, then it should be Forces mixed with Unleashed, let a movie Eggman have a big victory for half of the movie.

I'd say there's a perfect way for Sonic Movie 4 to mix elements of Heroes, 06, AND CD. Even a way to set up a new trilogy of movies with Metal Sonic as the big bad if an Eggman recast is off the table. I propose movie 4 could introduce Silver and have his story be loosely based on his story from 06, BUT replace Iblis with Metal Sonic/Metal Overlord. Have Eggman (possibly via time travel) take up Mephilies's role of manipulating Silver into believing Sonic will become Metal and casue his ruined future (not to mention this change giving an actual reason to put a target on Sonic's back compared to the original game). Silver, convinced that Metal Sonic IS Sonic goes into the past to destroy him. Perhaps Amy, guided by her Tarot cards, can sense Sonic's imminate danger and is brought in to help him. Essentially think a Terminator styled Sonic movie, which wouldn't be too far fetched since these movies love referencing pop culture movies anyway.

I'm not too worried with them running out of the "better" sonic plots. I imagine general audiences would get bored of Sonic well before something like that could happen. Sonic 3 may be the peak of the interest the movie franchise will pull in, especially if Jim Carrey does drop the film franchise after this one. With that said, I don't think it'd be an issue even if they started adapting the weaker stories. With all of these movies, they've mostly been roughly adapting the most important elements of the source material, and then doing whatever else they want. They can take the elements fans like, ignore the elements fans don't like, and make the films as good as they can. If they do a Silver plot line though, I hope they change up his way of meeting Sonic from 2006. That'd be like 3 main villains in these movies who fight Sonic due to some misunderstanding before teaming up to face the big bad.

If it were up to me Movie 4 would be CD & Heroes combined mainly featuring Metal Sonic. Movie 5 would be an adaptation of Adventure 1. It should end on Movie 6 with Mephiles being the Thanos equivalent and the 06 storyline being adapted to an Avengers Endgame type movie. Then if they really want to continue they should reboot the series to be more like the Mario Movie being fully animated to keep things fresh because I'm sure by then people will be tired of live action.

I don't think that doing a reboot and totally animating future Sonic movies would be such a good idea because if they do that then the characters would likely look too much like their videogame counterparts instead of having an interesting new design, and also make it look more like anyone is just watching an uncontrollable videogame, or an extended TV episode instead of a true movie. While also likely loosing most adult audiences by triggering the stupid modern problem of causing an amount of those people to be thinking that the movies are by then being targeted totally at kids, instead of being for both kids and adults anymore.

My main problem with Colors' plot (and by extension everything Sonic post Colors for plot, writing, and Voice Acting) is the dialogue/character writing. It is so dissonant from what came before in the 2000s. It was more reminiscent of the Western depiction of Classic/Genesis/90s Western Cartoon Sonic, which I hated. It wasn't really the Wisps + Yacker, it was the blatant character assassination of the main cast of Sonic & Tails. Lost World and Forces were that too, but SO much worse. My Sonic is the Sonic from X, Unleashed, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Sonic Rush + Rush Adventure, Black Knights, Secret Rings, etc. 2000s Sonic I grew up with and love, and I miss it. Roger is a great voice actor, but he just doesn't scratch that Sonic itch for me. The god awful voice direction doesn't help with things either. Shadow Generations and Frontiers are a step in the right direction, but the awful redub for Generations shows we still have a long way to go.
