It is SO ridiculous & nonsensical that outside of comics they always depict Cyclops needing to touch his visor in order to release his optic blast. He CAN activate the visor on the device itself but he doesn’t because it’s not practical & he needs to keep his hands free. He has an activation button in his gloves. Another instance of complete studio stupidity & not caring in the slightest for the source material.

I love how the physics of this scene (and his freefall sky-dive) make absolutely no sense. His optic blasts can punch a hole through a mountain right? So if there was recoil it would tear his head off. Also so funny how sometimes there's recoil, and sometimes there isn't. Whatever's plot-convenient I guess. The show is still badass of course, but comics are so inherently stupid.
