Scott's beams don't cause recoil (He technically shouldn't be able to skate around). He's also immune to the effects of his own power due to a psionic field. Basically Scott's beams ignore the whole "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction."

I grew up with the marvel trading cards in the 80's and 90's (alongside the comics). Every x-man is trained at olympic level conditioning in the danger room in such disciplines as gymnastics, judo, karate, etc. Would make sense that Xavier would make sure their bases are covered: not everyone is colossus or rogue. It has always shown in the comics, and now FINALLY in Xmen 97. In the last episode, seeing Cyclops do backflips while optic blasting in his classic all blue outfit from the 70's was out of this world for me

He does yes. Inside his glove. However it either has a circuit running through his suit or is a wireless signal (depending on the era). Both run on a battery. However, Cyke trained for over a decade with just the manual release button. So it's second nature. He also likes to hide the fact that he doesn't need to push that button to fire. He likes to trick people. You see him reach for the button over and over....and then when you know he can't reach it this time..... He gets ya.

Fun fact, he didn’t ever use his full power in the show. His Mutant power was opening portals to a dimension of pure energy and force, but the trauma he was induced with via plane incident with his 2 brothers and parents caused him to always have the portals open. Havok and Vulcan (his brothers) got depressed and went crazy (Havok the former, Vulcan the latter). Vulcan also tried to destroy the world.
