Ray Chase putting in work to make everyone a Cyclops fan. As expected of the voice behind such heroes as Bruno Bucciarati and Tengen Uzui. But, if they decide to go another route with Cyclops, also the voice of great villains like Sukuna. I know some people were disappointed with how quickly Maddie's Inferno was wrapped up, but I kinda appreciate that someone saw the inherent tragedy of Madelyne Pryor's story of being a clone, her husband and father of her child clearly not wanting her anymore, being the product of a guy literally named Mister Sinister, etc. and letting her have her villain arc but treating her like a person and immediately giving her redemption arc. Because it doesn't make the X-Men seem like monsters to just immediately villainize one of their own for decades. And it doesn't make them seem like hypocrites for trusting Magento's redemption arc over one of their own.

Ray is perfect casting, but I actually kind of wish they didn’t have him try to emulate the original voice actor so much. He’s doing it. He’s nailing that 90’s superhero cartoon voice. But knowing how good of an actor he is, I wish they let him do a more natural take like his other roles. There’s moments when he does, but naturally they want him to emulate Norm Spencer’s take.
@Just_Some_Guy_with_a_Mustache6 ай бұрын
@@greenrangeralex I'm happy you mentioned that because I'm also happy the tidied it up by giving Maddie powers from the beginning and chalked it up to psionics. Because someone realized they had to sell the audience on how overpowered Jean Grey actually is without knocking her out all the time.

My favourite moment is so basic, but I loved it in ep 1 where the team just started ending Sentinels. The theme kicked in and we just saw them go at it. I’m a sucker for that sort of thing, but then I grew up on Power Rangers so I’ve got no chance.

Speaking of blink and you'll miss it moments, I loved how Spidey showed up too. Early on as a newspaper blows past the screen, its The Daily Bugle and one of the headlines "Is Spider-man a mutant?" I loved that. One of my favourite things from the 90's cartoons is when Spidey meets Beast, and they just instantly become nerd bros over their love of science.

That said, I very much do NOT want Xavier to return; that would negate the impact of the old finale, and for what? Because he did in the comics…? No; let’s maintain that loss for the X-Men so they can move forward, not regress.

Great job as always, Sal and Dan! Cyclops is my spirit animal. I grew up wanting to be as cool as Cyclops. They did him justice here! X-Men Gold depicts Gambit and Rogue being married too. Magento turning on the X-Men is very tragic. They might do a “Fatal Attraction” saga where Magento takes out Wolverine’s adamantium from his body. That was brutal. 😨

I'm really stoked to see how they continue those types of fights.

Wow. Yall got me interested. I haven't been an xmen fan. I do read a lot of comics, but when i try reading xmen comics i feel like i need to read and study 100s of back issues! If you read FF or Spider-Man or the Hulk or many others back in the 60s and 70s, you can read and enjoy modern comics of these characters. But modern Xmen comics seem to be puposely overly convoluted and complicated. Xmen comics feel like the creators do NOT want you to read unless you are part of the "in crowd" that has read all the xmen titles. Furthermore, back when i did read Xmen, Cyclops was cool. The coolest of the group. The Fox movies made me never want to read or watch Xmen stories. There is no comicbook character i hate more than wolverine....thanks Fox! But I really enjoyed the new Ultimate Xmen comic, and you've convinced me to try this show which i had no plans of watching.

This show really takes inspiration from the 1991 x men #1 era from Chris Claremont and jim Lee but that is a terrible place to start. It depends how much you wanna read. You could start with unncanny x men 200 which is when magneto takes over for professor x and go to unncanny x men 320 which is when age of apocalypse gets set up. Age of apocalypse is kinda the end of the road for the glory that was 90s x men lol. That takes you through all the big x men stuff that happens in the 80s and early nineties. You could read the events mutant massacre, fall of the mutants, inferno, the muir island saga, x tinction agenda, x cutioners song, fatal attraction, phalanx covenant, legion quest and end with age of apocalypse. All that happens in that timeframe. Theres a million ways to go so good luck!

So I just watched the first episode and came away with 3 questions. Since we started with Bobby Dacosta are we getting the New Mutants? This might be the best start I personally could have asked for because things like my favorite character showing up is a quick way to keep me coming back. Then we saw Jean pregnant and I immediately wondered which baby that was. The episode answered it showing a baby Rachel, confirming my suspicions. I already thought it was most likely Rachel since this is Jean and not Madeline, but that comes with some serious implications. Very, very serious implications. If I remember my X-Men history, and I should since Rachel is in my top 3, Rachel is a multiversal anomaly. She only exists in a singular universe. There is only one of her that was ever born in the multiverse. Baby Rachel is a harbinger of Days of Future Past. Why is no one discussing this? Originally I didn't put much stock into this series, but the first 5 minutes put whatever trepidation I might have had to rest. Just showing the momentum and spacial awareness that is an inate part of Cyclops' ability set is far more work than Fox did with him since the original X-Men movie came out, and shows that things like abilities and power sets have been given more thought than that other studio cared to do. Moreover, they chose to show it through his movement, which is different than it was shown in the original series which was through optic blasts or pool games. This is just a short section within the first scene, but it stuck out sharply to me because of how badly these characters were handled in the past.

Right now I hope they make Storm arc good and dont rush it.Because my only issue about show they rushing little bit.That Goblin Queen arc completed in one episode.I wish we could see her abandon to X-men,join to Sebastian Shaw and establish Hell fire Club and manipulate to politics undercover.Because right now Magneto is a good guy (for now) and we need a replacement for him and Sebastian Shaw might be a good villian for X-Men.Also he will be awesome villian because of his history with Magneto.Also once a while if they focus on solo stories it will be great. Like Wolverine and Sabretooth,what Deadpool,Colossus and others doing.This 3 episodes pretty awesome I wonder how Mcu will rival with that?😊

X-Men the animated series, was a seminal show for me growing up and it’s what got me into comics, mainly Marvel, for 30 years now. So I’m approaching this extremely skeptical. The animation looks like a choppy CG downgrade. And the behind the scenes Disney mucking around isn’t winning me over. As a die hard life long x-fan, this show has completely blown me away and has me exited for the future, but the third episode was extremely disappointing, I felt like it was 4 episodes worth of content slammed into 30 minutes, I still have high hopes for lifedeath now they’ve brought in Forge, but man did that episode sting. The biggest thing that hurt was morph turning into Magik and dark child, guess no issue 160 adaptation. Man, that was a huge missed opportunity, but the first two completely blew me away. It's a bit of a weird show lol. I enjoyed it but I find the OG show, had some adult themes but was mostly a kid's show. This kinda goes overboard with the adult themes, and even imagery ex Rogue & Magneto merging into one another, Wolverine in the shower (weird...). But out of all the X-Men stuff they could have done I wish they created a new show (with a better creative team) in the tone and quality of X-Men Evolution but with the style of X-Men TAS. X-Men Evolution also had the perfect tone and respected it was a children's show and had no adult imagery and wasn't really divisive. I would also argue Evolution was also the best adaptation of X-Men especially how it handled its themes of racism, people who are handicapped or disabled and religious intolerance.
@Ragnorok6576 ай бұрын
@oatmat X-Men Evolution was good but the original was far more better then Evolution in terms of stories and the adult part of the Xmen, Xmen Evolution was marketed more towards kids more than it was Xmen TAS which is fine but I remember it fell a bit flat by the end of that series
