Actually, Hugh Jackman did not get the role because he was famous...he became famous because of the role. Up until then he did Australian TV and Theatre. In the role he was heavily criticized (initially) for being too tall and "doughy" to play Wolverine.

Actually I meant wolverine was the main character due to his popularity in the comics. But I didn't know this so thanks actually 👌🏾

Only a few minutes in. I can clear up a misconception. The reason why magneto wanted to turn people into mutants (at least in the first film) was because the Senate wanted to pass laws that would curtail mutant rights. Makes sense as in the begining of the film you had senator dickbag over here fearmongering about the exiatance of mutants. So magnetos plan was simple. Use a machine that would turn humans into mutants. However he only meant to do so specifically to congress and not all of humanity. He stated his reason in the film, i forget the exact quote but it was something along the lines of "our concern will become their concern" or something Probably butchered the quote there but essentially it means, "theyll only be sympathetic to the cause if it affects them directly" The problem is he miscalculated the range and power of his machine. It would have impacted civillians and shortly after turning them into mutants, the mutant gene would kill them, the same way it killed senator douchenozel by turning him into a puddle. Thats why the X-men had to stop the device. To avoid an atrocity
