Xavier was in his late 40s in this movie. He was around 28-30 in First Class. That 1st Cyclops scene was a remake of the X-men Origins scene. The guy that played Stryker was originally going to be Juggernaut. Mystique says they called themselves X-men, but Moira called them that after Mystique left with Magneto.

About that Quicksilver scene: I remember sitting in the cinema for the entire movie, wondering what's going on and I didn't feel quite engaged in the movie... and then... boom, one of my most favorite tracks from the 80s plays nearly uninterrupted for about two and a half minutes. Very loud, heavy on the bass, like in an 80s disco. And I felt: This is the first moment in the movie that actually feels awesome. I had a similar feeling for Tron: Legacy which I found felt more like a sophisticated Daft Punk music video... So I wish they would have extended the scene for an additional minute and have Eurythmics release it as a new music video. (Similar to the Always on my mind video from the Pet Shop Boys). The rest of the movie was a garbled mess, but I loved that scene

I just kind of figured they Flashpoint-ed the timeline, in that to use the "to change the past is like drop a stone in a river" thing, ripples (changes) flow in all directions from the point of impact. So when Wolverine changed things in DOFP, it changes stuff even before his mind got sent back in time.

I still think this is better than X-Men, X3, and the first two wolverine movies, by a long shot. Yea, it didn’t live up to First Class and Days of Future past but the way people talked about it I was expecting another Last Stand and instead got a movie that stumbles but was consistently fun for me personally so I like it.

My only problem with Nick's argument about the world would be hunting down mutants if this happened, history shows we don't really do that. We didn't hunt down every German after Germany started two world wars. I'm just, saying, this movie has plenty of problems without that being one of them. That's just my thoughts on it. They should have made Night of the Seninels, then Days of Future Past, as well as, made two Apocalypse movies, the second one could have introduced Mr.Sinister and we should have had the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. This effort was weak at best, but then so was a lot of X-Men movies unfortunatley. The X-Men franchise deserved better, and I do not blame actors, it's all on the writers/directors.

Surprisingly a lot more fun than what I remember. A perfect Saturday morning flick. The worst parts are during apocalypse villainous posturing while his four horseman pose awkwardly behind him with nothing to do or say except stand there. Gets worse when they are at Cairo looking over Egypt on the worst fake movie set I've seen in a long time

Son of Sam was the one who talked to his dog, that went on yearlong pattern of attacks in NYC killing couples in their cars with a .44 caliper revolver, in 1978 i believe was the "Summer of Sam". The sniper , if this is what he was thinking of was Charles Whitman first major school shooting from in the Clock Tower in Univ of Texas in early 1960s. Tower on Netflix is about that day, Amazing doc. I found it cool, and idk if it was subconsciously or not, but the one that buried the teenagers under his house was from Chicago, I wouldn't doubt Greg when loving in Chicago heard people talk.abiut it. I've heard at RTX then next in review was announced as Spiderman. I hope after that they will go down a different avenue rather than super hero movies. I was hoping they'd do the Potter movies for the build up to the 2nd fantastic beasts movie. But even if its not Potter I hope they do something different to super hero movies, like the Tarantino filmograpy or Scorsese's. Something different from Superhero stuff because I'm getting bored of watching one every week 😂

I'm glad people are realizing that Fox having X-Men was never good. Sure Deadpool 1 and Logan took huge risks but look know long it took for us to get there. I wish it was just the Marvel rights that Fox had went back to Disney but whatever, if they need to buy the whole studio to get it, I guess, sure, if that's what it takes.

Apocalypse was a remake First Class. Villain is an immortal with 4 henchmen. Scantly clad psychic woman (Emma Frost/ Psylocke), biblical guy (Azazel/Angel), black girl with unsavory past (Angel/Storm), elemental (Riptide/Magneto). Xavier and a blonde (Mystique/Havok) meet Moira at a government building to discuss the immortal villain. The new kids rebel to have some fun (party/mall trip). Their base is attacked where the villains take one of them and kill another. The team get new uniforms and take a jet to the battlefield. Also, Singer has a checklist plot for these X-men movies. Each movie has to have certain things. Even X3 used his treatment (look up what they would have done for X3 and it sounds the same, but bigger).

Mostly disliked this movie. My big nitpick is the age of the characters. It's been 21 years since the first movie, but none of the actors look like they aged 20 years. Mystique can be forgiven, she's supposedly as old as Wolverine. But Prof. X, Magneto, Havok, Moira (spl?), and Beast don't look like they are in their 40s.

This is the third worst movie, the 1st and 2nd worst movies are X-Men Origins:Wolverine and Dark Phoenix and I haven't even seen Dark Phoenix but too many realiable sources said not to bother watching it, although I probably will at some point.

I am like 5 mins into this so I may come back to edit at the end but oooo boy. When I saw this in the theater the whole entire crowd laughed like legit belly laughed at when Magneto's wife and child were killed...but then when he take revenge and kills the people who killed his family not even 2 mins later that same crowd cheered...this was too much for me I yelled out "no! you're not allowed to have that reaction now". I couldn't handle the entire crowd in the theater having such a flip flop of emotions. That said I hated this movie.

I hated Apocalypse. Such promise wasted. I thought I would find it more engaging this time round, but no ... still pants! I thought the direction and pacing was very poor. The Magneto family death scene, is poorly paced and cut (also they did not need the Vader’esq Nooooo, shot “why have you forsaken meeeeeee”). And Apocalypse, learning about the world from tuning a TV... really, that was the best option. Writing poor, direction poor, pacing poor.... casting good
