This is really making me want a Doom vs Apocalypse scenario because I feel like Apocolypse new ideals may conflict with some of Dooms more noble traits, and given Ewings writing in SWORD he might have some plans for Doom and let's face it, a philosophical debate between those two would be great... and maybe a little bit funny.

Apocalypse....the PEACE mage? Did I hear that right? I really like how this series has added a near infinite amount of complexity to his character. Also, I appreciate this channel so much. Apocalypse is my favorite marvel character period so any book focusing on him will be welcome. This issue was amazing. I’m a little bummed out at apocalypse taking so many L’s and the wise uncle role he’s been but hey, looks like genesis is the real apocalypse now.

Uranos (and his arsenal) is a huge threat, even for Apocalypse. I can't see Apocalypse winning. Unless Apocalypse uses some Celestial Weaponry to balance Uranus armory, maybe ?

Most myths and the main Greek mythology say Gaea came from Chaos meaning Chaos spawned Gaea not came after but alongside Chaos. Your version is more obscure or from more obscure myths. Gaea, fairest of the fair, Mother of All, sprang from Chaos. Uranus came from Gaea. Now, Tartarus, Nyx, Eros, etc.. have a few origins but Gaea always SPRANG from Chaos.

I think it's plays up Genesis all the more if anything. It was said way back in X of Swords that Genesis was more powerful than her husband. Though I'm still not sure if we've seen any power set from her, which is saying something about how powerful she is as her little sister's power is PLOT ARMOR ON CRACK.

I hate what they are doing with apocalypse. He’s always been my favorite x-men character as a whole. He has been so deposed over the years he doesn’t even feel like a threat. He feels like a weaker version of the hulk. Where is his celestial tech and his body manipulation. They gave him love and a sword when he can literally turn his body into cannons, Lasers, shields, ect. He an eternal and now he a mutant named apocalypse instead of being THE APOCALYPSE.

What the HELL have they done to Apocalypse? He’s one of the most terrifying and unforgiving villains ever and now he’s a simp wanting peace? WTF. His girlfriend has to tell HIM to keep his edge and to embrace war? The guy who literally has been testing the most powerful mutants for thousands of years. This is so ridiculous. I know they were trying to make him more complex and add backstory but this just doesn’t work for me at all. He couldn’t just be a straightforward villain with clear goals, he’s actually a secret hero that did it all for love. What an absolute joke. He is the rocks of the eternal shore. Crash against him and be broken!

He has always been the one wanting to grow potential through conflict. By taking that away he is now just another mutant who somehow gets his ass kicked when he was borderline unstoppable before.

@@comicbreakdown yes but there’s a difference between character development and an out of nowhere retcon that changes the entire identity of the character. Real character development would be Apocalypse being patriotic to Krakoa or Xavier and coming to a new realization or sacrifice. He should grow from the terrifying version he was, not have a completely different identity.

I just want to say I love your channel so what I am about to say has nothing against your commentary or your channel because I do love watching videos of Carnage and other comics on your channel, but I am done with X-Men because I hate what they did to Apocalypse. He was one of the most iconic villains of the 80s and 90s and I would argue even up there with the likes of Thanos and Dr. Doom. So for them to have deconstruct his character makes no sense and it also breaks canon! Apocalypse was never one for peace, he did not have a wife or love, his whole thing was the strongest were only fit to survive. Has people forgot the Age of Apocalypse story arc? I know it is a different reality but it was the same Apoc, the only difference in that reality was that Professor X was not around to train the Xmen! Now they want the readers to be dumb and just forget about his true origin story? The reason I believe fans should be upset about this even if you are not a fan of Apocalypse, is because they are doing this with a lot of iconic villains and heroes! They reconstruction them and make them into a whole new character and forget their origins. They did this to Thanos also. I am surprised they do not do a retake on Carnage also, which at this rate I would not put it past them! We need pure evil villains because they are what makes the hero winning even more epic! Yes complex villains are also important but not every single villain needs to be complex! As one of the best quotes in the Dark Knight is "some people just want to see the world burn" and that's true in real life, and you cannot relate to those types of people! Anyways thanks for the videos and I will continue to watch but as for the Xmen I am done with them until they wake up and get new writers that can stick to canon.

@@comicbreakdown No problem and I would just have to disagree because yes we do need relatable villains, and we have them. I do not think you should make certain villains who killed countless people and tortured others for fun, relatable. Think of it like this what if they made the Joker more relatable or Emperor Palpatine? I think that takes the flavor they have from them on why they are truly evil in the first place. Also it would just need to make sense, which I feel they did not make sense of why all of a sudden he had a change of heart. But to each their own I guess :)
