@@brittislove don't need to look anything up- I've collected almost all of Marvel since 1961-2015. I'm all too familiar with their abrupt and sad decline. Absolutely nothing wrong with "diverse" characters or political stories in themselves (which Marvel has always had). But modern Marvel is an absolute cringefest and continuity trainwreck because they're staffed entirely by incompetent twitter sociopaths. These clowns have clearly never read any Marvel in their collective lives before the MCU. They are narcissists who are only around Marvel to pander and play their pathetic culture war.

@uxm4life94 Жыл бұрын
@@kidrobot. the 90s Marvel/Capcom games are extremely comicbook accurate- X-men are the Jim Lee X-men, Spidey and Venom are straight out of Mcfarlanes book, Hulk is the Dale Keown version. Even Iron Man was using that armor and had the photon cannon at that time. 90s Capcom did their research and nailed it. Respectfully if you don't think these sprites are comicbook accurate- then you simply cannot have been reading Marvel at the time.

What I loved about this game so much is the little subtle things they did to distinguish each character as far as power scale. So Cyclops blast was stronger and pieced Icemans blast. Iceman did not take chipping damage from attacks. Colossus had invincibility (when charging or if he used his power bar), while Juggernaut had a constant invincibility (even though it was less than Colossus' when he used his power meter). Also Colossus was so strong, his regular punches did chipping damage. Wolverine was super fast as he was naturally the fast guy by the comics standard. Storm could fly. Omega Red could drain your life bar or power meter. It was just very detailed. Great game.

Super jumps, air combos, floor breaks, hyper combos, real voice actors. Capcom started all that. That little "cling" before you do a super move. Yup, Marvel did briefly go bankrupt in the 90s. They sold license to almost anyone who wanted to make a game. Why not make a Street Fighter II clone? And for Capcom it was time to make a wackier fighting game with flying, super powers, screen filling blasts... stuff that wouldn't fit in Street Fighter (but eventually SF Alpha)
@Blackblax Жыл бұрын
@@ChadiusYea. Cuz all the comic companies because greedy & started selling all those variant covers, making their product ultimately drop in value. I think the X-Men games only became "SF2 clones" because Capcom made those games. But they were extremely success & I loved SF & X-Men as a kid back then. But they did change up some stuff to make it stand out from a standard SF game. I just hate how the movie rights made them fall back on the X-Men & focused more on The Avengers as a line-up for Marvel v Capcom. Hopefully whenever the X-Men hit the MCu they'll be a huge success & we'll get more games. I'd love an "X-Men Legends 3" & "Children of the Atom 2" game, & a new "FF" like I played as a kid (just longer w/ more moves & characters--i.e. villains, FF "replacements", & Fantastic Force ).

Samurai does have a kick, jumping light kick. Cota is the only marvel game where you can cancel anything into anything else whether on hit block or whiff. Whiff a hk from full screen? Super jump and block. want to annoy people as Omega Red? Cancel the horrible recovery of standing hp with crouching light kick then dash and repeat. The game is complete freedom of how to approach your opponent. Admittedly this game is very broken. That is part of its charm. In a world of MK, Street Fighter and Killer Instinct Children of the Atom was just a perfect bridge to take my money. I remember being able to beat it with Wolverine and the Sentinel. You could overwhelm most folks with Wolverine or really make them hate you with Sentinel with some of its cheaper moves. Eventually the game vanished and Marvel Superheros showed up. Then X-Men vs Street Fighter. I think Wolverine was in most of those but I always wrecked folks with Iron man. I've always rejected the notion that 2D was "dated". Isn't making games more about creativity? The early days of the PlayStation always left a bitter taste on my mouth. If I had the money to buy between the PlayStation and the Saturn back then, I would have unquestionably supported Sega and purchased the Saturn just for being more of a 2D powerhouse with Capcom backing it with their awesome Vs. And Alpha/Zero games. Just because the head of Sony dictates in a speech that the era of 2D is over and 3D is the "future" doesn't mean you have to follow that cult and reject everything 2D. That really annoyed me, and that’s what killed it for me with any of those "next-gen" consoles, except the Dreamcast because Sega made it a 2D and 3D powerhouse. Sega deserves respect for that when everyone else shunned having any significant 2D support.
