love the breakdown... just dont agree with ur art preference which is to be expected with art aesthetics. I been a big fan of ramos' art since DV8 the evil Gen 13 group in Image back in the day... i guess technically they are DC now... i dunno. Anyways... i actually prefer the more cartoony / stylized art take ESPECIALLY on the design aspect... but i have to agree with you when he draws people yelling... yeesh... i tend to find more realistic art styles less interesting and less stand out and thus i dont end up remembering the artist at all. Thankyou for covering this arc... i am desperate to get into dawn and house and i have only read up thru 2nd comming so a refresher before i go on was needed... but i cant find 2nd coming anywhere aside you.

As i say in the video, I'm also a big Ramos fan, I just felt his art really stuck out here and didn't fit with the rest of what was going on, and maybe because of that some of the flaws of his art seemed especially highlighted. Glad you enjoyed the video, though! I was super into Messiah Complex when it was coming out, so it was a big goal for the channel for me to cover it and its sequels.

Do you know why Gambit was on the Marauders side?

It's a bit complicated: it was eventually revealed that Gambit was always one of Sinister's Marauders and was with the X-Men essentially as only an undercover agent. After M-Day, Apocalypse turned Gambit into his horseman Death, and Sinister helped returned Gambit to normal, at which point Gambit rejoined the Marauders. He then stays largely to protect Rogue after she gets infected with Strain 88.

I'm curious, what do you like about this comic? What actually makes this comic a masterpiece? I find this comic extremely boring and bad.

Hmm, I feel like I made a 20 minute video explaining why i liked it, so I'm a little worried about the quality of my video, but I'm happy to expand on what I said. I'll start by saying that "masterpiece" is definitely over-selling it. I like it, but it has a lot of problems, mainly that it's a bit unfocused and the X-Men spend the whole story being two steps behind everyone else and the story feels very much like it's just setup for future stories, which it very much is. That said, I primarily like it as part of the full messiah trilogy. As someone who has been an X-Men fan since the early 90s, thanks to the X-Men cartoon, and someone who was reading a lot of Marvel when this story came out, this trilogy feels very much like where everything was eventually headed and I feel like it brings together a lot of story elements very nicely in an overall well told story with a lot of art that I really like. I think the dark, muted tones of the coloring and the semi-realistic style of the pencils really work for the X-Men universe in my personal opinion. I hope that answers your question at least a little.

Yeah, I was able to determine that it definitely wasn't Polaris, but that was my first thought, too. Also, lol @ the Tumblr line. I actually started these reviews there for like a week before quickly moving elsewhere.
