this actually isn't the reason in the movies. Its explained in x men 2's tie in comic that Sabertooth was experimented on by striker sometime prior to events of x men 1. These experiments made him more feral and gave him amensia, explaining why he doesn't recognise Logan. The two would rediscover they're connected in between x men 1 and 2, but this would short lived as sabertooth would be captured by Striker and die when they attempt to infuse his skeleton with Adatamtium.

Just to give an example of how important the merging of mutants into the MCU is, Wolverine wouldn't exist without the super soldier serum that enhanced Captain America, as they were both created by the Weapon Plus program, Captain America being Weapon 1, and Wolverine being Weapon 10 (X). There 8 other iterations used on different characters in between the two, but the most important thing to note is that they were both experimented on by the same group. Also, what made Rogue one of the most powerful mutants to exist was the fact that she absorbed the powers of, and nearly killed Ms. Marvel, (who later became Captain Marvel when she regained her powers.) Basically, in the comics, mutants and Avengers/villains were always written together and often bounced from one group to another, they were rarely ever separate entities on their own, which is why it was such a massive deal originally for them to sell off the rights to so many characters. Younger people today, and people that never read the comic books don't really understand how integral they each were to the other's plotlines and stories. Now they 'potentially' have the ability to do what was always the original intention of the comics, the biggest problem now is that so many people don't know the original source material.
@glennwelsh97846 ай бұрын
The Deadpool in this movie is VERY different from the one you'll meet later in his standalone movies. Fans were deeply upset with the major changes they made to Deadpool for this movie, as he is a far cry from how he's presented in the comics. So when they finally got around to making the first Deadpool movie (eleven years later, after leaked test footage went viral and sparked an online fan campaign), they choose to ignore his origins in this movie and go with a retelling that is more faithful to the comics (while making a few jokes at this movie's expense). So don't try to make any sense of the continuity between this movie and the Deadpool movies. The total lack of continuity is intentional.

Wolverine debuted 50 years ago (Hulk, X-Men) and his first-ever solo series began in the 1980s. Throughout the comics' history, he's been a Marvel Legend in every form or fashion. "The best there is at what he does which is not very nice". 15 years ago, the start of his trilogy would definitely further things in the comic-book movie craze and the X-Men universe on film. Fox was developing solo films for Magneto & Mystique, but decided to stay on Wolvie's path in the universe. Using core elements including from the mini-series,Wolverine:The Origin (2001-2002). Casting of other characters and fan-favorites were actually good. The storytelling is fair and the action is stupendous. Hugh Jackman playing out Logan's struggle with being a man, the animal or the living weapon is really good. This one is both loved and hated for it's direction, certain moments and not just by fans, it's filmmakers as well. Yet of course, it was still a box office smash. There was 2 endings:"Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson (Weapon XI/D.P.) with his severed head and shushing..." and the other, rarely seen ending is 'Logan in Japan'.. Both moments were retconned in 2 future films.

In the comics there are alot of ways to gain powers without being a mutant. Getting bit by various animals, crazy experiments, mechanical suits, cybernetic enhancements, magic, making deals with demons, money, being an alien/god/mythical creature, merging with interdimensional beings, being really good with a lasso, swallowing magic jewels and so on and so forth. Then we have characters like Black Widow and the Punisher who technically don't have powers but somehow repeatedly survive encounters with super-powered villains and armies of ninjas, gangsters and terrorists. Edit: I remember one issue of Deadpool ending with the Punisher utterly humiliating and destroying Deadpool, a man who seemingly can't die. He's one scary dude.

50:28 Understandable, the Marvel comics actually blend all these characters together pretty well. Some things can be a little confusing at times, especially how some characters get retcon because of movies or mordernizing the stories, but still sometimes enjoyable. One connection between these characters is Wolverine and Hulk. Wolverine was first introduced in the Hulk comics as a villian/anti-hero. He was one of Hulk's biggest enemies during the time. Later on, when he joined the X-Men, he became a hero, and later became an Avenger. However, he always return to the X-Men. Even though him and Captain America are old friends, Wolverine considers the X-Men his family. Also, before the Avenger films came out, the X-Men, Spider-Man, and Fantastic Four were considered to be Marvel's biggest IP. The Avengers weren't as popular until the MCU started. Hope this make sense! 🙏🏽💪

When Wolverine got the adamantium skeleton/claws, he gained something, but lost something eventually. He became physically stronger, more durable and his claws obviously became sharper and more durable as well, but due to adamantium poisoning, his body was constantly regenerating and because of the overtax of his healing factor, his regenerative abilities became much weaker and weaker as time goes by. The adamantium also dulled his animalistic instincts, making him less feral than when he had the bone claws. So, bone clawed Wolverine would be physically weaker, but more feral with great regenerative capabilities than adamantium clawed Wolverine, while the latter would be physically stronger, more durable, less feral and very diminished regenerative capabilities. Also, keep in mind that Wolverine's healing factor is most likely on the same level as Deadpool's healing factor.

Achara is literally all of us who knew about Gambit when we heard his name. The fangirling lol. Taylor Kitch was robbed of this role. He did an amazing job. He worked so hard for it. Like all those fancy staff maneuvers and stunts were all him. Not to mention, he had the suaveness and charm, plus he had the perfect face structure for the iconic cowl. Sad they didn’t utilize him more.

Since Kristen is making fun of Achara for liking Gambit, now you gotta make her react to X-Men (select episodes) and X - Men 97!

36:29 Comic book science fact: The compounds that make adamantium are kept in separate vats of a special resin that keep them from curing until they are bonded to the subject's skeleton. Once they have been bonded to the skeleton and cooled, the alloy becomes indestructible, and no amount of heat can melt or compromise the structural integrity of the adamantium. In the comics, Wolverine has survived being engulfed in a nuclear blast thanks to it.

I agree, mon ami! Gambit was my second fav character from the comics. Forge was my guy! So many eggs in this movie. The White Queen cometh!
@ChrisReise6 ай бұрын
36:36 It is mentioned in the 2nd film that adamantium has to stay in a liquid form, once it's cooled, it's virtually indestructible...basically, it can be melted ONCE, but once it's cooled, it can't be melted again.

Man if he had just escaped with Gambit and hung out with him for like 24 hours so many of his questions over the next 20 years would have already been answered. Like Gambit didn't know everything about Wolverine's past, but he knew a LOT.

50:18 in the MCU Wanda (Scarlet Witch) And Pietro Maximoff are both mutants and I’m pretty sure Kamala Khan is as well. All 3 of them could be used in the MCU despite them being owned by Fox because owned their mutant names and the rights for them to be mutants not their govt names. Disney used their real names and changed their backgrounds to get around it. Thats why Wanda isn’t actually called the Scarlett witch until after Disney bought out Fox.

Yes, X-Men and the *mutants* are, possibly, joining the MCU... So alongside the Avengers, all the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., Deadpool, Dr Strange, The Guardians Of The Galaxy, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, and now Daredevil (and hopefully Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and the rest). Plus the recent additions of She Hulk, Ms Marvel, Echo, Venom, Moon Knight. And don't forget the possibility of, The Young Avengers, and maybe Blade. (I'm sure I'm forgetting a few) All we need is the Fantastic Four. Marvels Holy Trinity; *"Avengers"* *"X-Men"* *"Fantastic Four"* Fans have been praying for them together in the MCU for a long, LONG, time.

Agent Zero is played by Daniel Henney. :) He's half-korean. He's done a lot of projects in both Korea and the US. Some of his notable projects in the US include being the voice for Tadashi (Hiro's older brother) in Big Hero 6, he was also a regular on Hawaii Five-0 and Criminal Minds, and Wheel of Time. Some of his notable projects in Korea include the kdrama: My Lovely Sam Soon as well as other k dramas in the early 2000s (I'm not familiar with his other dramas unfortunately) and most recently he played another agent character in the movie Confidential Assignment 2 alongside Hyun-bin who's also a wonderful korean actor as well as Yoona who is a successful singer-actor (one of the members of the K-pop girl group: Girls Generation). He also showed up as a guest on the Korean variety show: I Live Alone. :) I would definitely recommend watching Confidential Assignment 1 and 2 although he doesnt show up in the first one

I love this movie and how Ryan used his sword power in his scene. I know a lot of comic book readers didn't care for this movie, but it simplified a lot of his backstory that actually made sense in the live movie series. Also, they should have made it clear that Victor becomes Sabretooth, so those that saw the first trilogy will understand who it was that attacked Wolverine and Rogue on the road. His mutant power eventually made him more animal like, and so his memories went. Both brothers have violent hatred for each other, but can't remember why or who they ever are to each other. I wished they would have brought back Gambit in other movies. At least the Xmen '97 is paying him some respect. Fun fact: the bar that looks like a barn is the same location that they filmed in the very first Xmen movie. It's when Logan was having a drink and the guy he fought in the ring came after him. So bar owner is someone different in this movie, but could be the same character, just played by an older version of him...idk. I might put the comic backstory of how mutations began and how they kind of got the ball rolling with introducing the Eternals movie in the MCU ( granted they've changed their origins for the first movie. I hope it proves false in the second one, if they ever make it).
