I once heard that someone made a similar soundtrack before the X-Men, noticed it when it was added to Disney+, and then made a lawsuit. To be fair Wolverine and the X-men could have challenged X-men TAS but it never got a chance. Cancelled after one brilliant season, in a decision only beaten in its utter stupidity about 6 years later when they cancelled Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes and replaced it with utter garbage. I bet I'd still be putting X-Men TAS over it though, even if Wolverine and the X-men had been given a fair shot, because TAS is that damn good but there's no shame in being the 2nd best. Look at the 2nd best Spiderman cartoon ever, it's better than most 1st best of any other superheroes, lol.

I'm grateful that Disney and Marvel are now acknowledging the X-Men and also the Fantastic Four given that before they didn't want to do anything with the characters as they don't want to have the characters appearances in the more recent Marvel cartoons to be completely associated with the 20th Century Fox/20th Century Studios films who at the time, still hold the rights to these characters before they returned back to Marvel following the Fox acquisition. Now that Disney has acquired 20th Century Fox/20th Century Studios, the X-Men and Fantastic Four are finally acknowledged once again.

It's not that they didn't want to, they couldn't. Marvel sold the from rights to Fox, and Fox held on to them. Same with Spiderman, they sold the rights to Disney, and Hulk to Universal. Only exception for those is they were able to work out details with universal to get Hulk (but he can't star in a standalone film) and Spider-Man (Sony gets a cut and still owns the film rights)

@@arthurdavid2319 Then again, Disney after acquiring Marvel still were able to use Spider-Man in the cartoons despite Sony owning Film rights to the character, of course that has to do with a clause that Disney/Marvel only own the Spider-Man television show rights that is less than 40 minutes. But back on the X-MEN and Fantastic Four, The ONLY X-Men character that Disney/Marvel would utilize for their cartoons (e.g. Ultimate Spider-Man, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., etc.) was just Wolverine, but not the rest of the X-Men cast. As for the Fantastic Four characters, it's usually just Doctor Doom and The Thing, but not the other members of Fantastic Four (Human Torch, Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman) which their only appearances outside of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes was in Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. And to make things more complicated, Marvel decided to just disregard them completely in the comics and just try to do their own thing when they tried to make the Inhumans as their own answer to The X-Men.

@@EChacon Sony pretty much had an iron grip on Spiderman at one point they owned the film tv/cartoon and merchandise rights. Unfortunately for them they were going through some tough times financially and made a deal with Disney who swooped in and bought back the tv/merchandise rights and in return allowed Sony an extension on the movie rights (this is why Spectacular Spiderman ended after two seasons).

Awesome this was one of my favourite cartoons as a kid. Even back then I understood the message of prejudice against those who are different is wrong. Maybe because I have aspergers syndrome and am different from other people and got bullied and shunned from day one of school till I left because of it. Even now at 37 people still treat me badly because of my condition mainly because you can't tell just by looking at me that I have a disability.
