Hi Jeff Your flying skills are quite good along with your instincts. What you lack is real world experience. This aircraft has a few really dangerous quirks, as it is extremely fast and light in pitch. With regard to any large turbo engine it you want them to live, you must take care of engine management. There is no pull it back to idle, if you want to have engines when you need them. The technique to power reduction is 2 inches of manifold pressure every 2 minutes. The reason is because there are at least 5 different types of metals in the cylinders, that expand and contract at different rates. Any Turbo engined aircraft will demand a part application of power to stabilize (this AC about 30 inches)and then a slow and careful final application to T.O. Power, unless you enjoy explaining why you swapped direction on the numbers. The Turbos have a tendency to spool up at different rates causing a wild yaw rate change. Being a Ted Smith design it has a very quirky steering method that I see isn't modeled in this version. There is a rocker switch on the center console that you try to manage the direction with. In practice most pilot try to unload the nose wheel as soon as possible to avoid the excursions that follow. The worse is having you hands crossed to operate the rocker while zooming down the runway under what is best described as partial control. Good Game, Good Game ! A well sorted 600, 601 or 700 SuperStar will have another rocker repeater placed on the front panel for better access. My final deadly quirk on this Aircraft is with the pilot entry door. Say your flying along 220 knots fat, dumb and happy, and the upper half of the door flies open...…. well you reach out and pull it shut right !?! Your arm enters the airflow and right into the spinning prop it goes ! There have been multiple fatalities and subsequent crashes related to inflight door emergencies. In my 30 plus years of flying, I have had several inflight emergencies, including being on fire at FL390. A sudden change of cockpit environment to say the noise and wind turbulence created by an open door tends to make pilots act too quickly and with bad outcomes. So always stop, think and act only once you have a well sorted plan in mind. Fly first and act only when your sure all aspects and contingencies are accounted for. Keep the shiny side up... Falkenroth1 there is one L1011 that is available but it isn’t especially high quality. If you want to fly an L1011 I would recommend getting P3D V4 and Justflight’s L1011 Professional.
